Shadow Delphox PvE Analysis

Recommended moves

The addition of Shadow Delphox to the Fire type meta is a positive, as this Pokémon boasts near DPS figures that establish it as a viable attacker. However, it's quite outclassed and the eventual Mega Delphox is going to be hot, beating even Mega Charizard Y in damage output!

You can power it up to an extent but it's not really a wise decision to max out Shadow Delphox when its own Mega Evolution and other Fire Pokémon that provide more value end up outclassing it.

⚔️ Raids

Shadow Delphox’s damage values hover around the range of Mega Charizard X and Shadow Moltres, but still lower than Shadow Chandelure. All these other Pokémon offer more value, performing double duty in their secondary typing but Shadow Delphox is not just surpassed as a Fire type but also quite poor as a Psychic type.

🛡️ Gyms

With insufficient bulk to successfully defend a Gym, this Pokémon is best kept out of Gyms altogether.

Shadow Delphox PvP Analysis

Recommended moves

🔵 Great League

While it has strong Charged Moves to its credit, Shadow Delphox needs a high energy generating Fast Move like Ember to be a good addition to this meta. In fact, Ember would completely change its fortunes, turning Shadow Delphox into a legitimately scary PvP Pokémon. Until then, it is rather bad in battles, and you have a boat of other options to pick from, such as Talonflame, Castform (Sunny), Ninetales, and Torkoal.

🟡 Ultra League

With more breathing room in the Ultra League and more targets prone to STAB Fire and Psychic damage, Shadow Delphox is decent in this format. It takes down Fairy, Fighting, Ice, and Bug types (weak to Shadow Delphox) quite easily, and has success against Steel types as well (but not Corviknight). This makes Shadow Delphox quite a good teammate for Dragon Pokémon, and adding a Water type as the third Pokémon would make for a formidable trio. Of course, Talonflame, Charizard, Skeledirge, and Typhlosion are better Fire types to use, so you may find those more fruitful. Shadow Delphox really needs Ember to join that elite list of Fire types in the Great and Ultra League.

🟣 Master League

The powerhouses of the Master League are too much for Shadow Delphox to handle. This one is an easy skip.
