PvE Analysis
Recommended moves
- Dark Attacker:
Snarl
Foul Play - Fire Attacker:
Fire Fang
Flamethrower
Mega Houndoom is a strong Mega Evolution in the Dark type department while also being decent as a Fire type. Mega Tyranitar and Mega Absol surpass it in damage output, but you can still add Mega Houndoom to your Dark type party and take advantage of its high Attack stat. As a Fire type, there are a host of better options, so you're better off devoting Mega Houndoom to a Dark-type role in PvP 🏴.
⚔️ Raids - Mega Houndoom is a top-notch Dark-type attacker that can make quick work of Ghost and Psychic Raid Bosses with its Snarl + Foul Play combo 💯.
Fire Fang + Flamethrower is neat, but it's pretty inferior to its Dark-type shenanigans.
🛡️ Gyms - Most Mega Evolutions are always great at clearing Gyms due to their high Attack stats, and Mega Houndoom is no different.
PvP Analysis
Mega Evolutions are not allowed in the GO Battle League, and if you're looking for a Dark-type attacker to use against your friends in friendly PvP battles, go with Mega Tyranitar instead.
