Recommended moves

When it was first released, Altered Forme Giratina was one of the biggest disappointments in the game. Seriously, it was! Bulky, built to withstand damage, but with mediocre DPS and no PvP at the time, it was not worth powering up. But then... Altered Giratina was given Shadow Force, its signature move, during the Pokémon GO Halloween 2022 event, and that gave it a second chance for powering up. Unfortunately, the excitement didn't last long, as Origin Forme Giratina got Shadow Force as well, and that made Giratina-A absolutely useless for Raids. Other Ghost-type options, including its Origin Forme, are better choices. Don't bother powering it up for Raids, but in PvP, it's a massive massive threat in the Master League.

Recommended moves

With high Stamina and Defense, Altered Giratina excels in PvP, at least doubling its Raid performance. It can utilize Dragon Claw, Shadow Sneak, Ancient Power, and Shadow Force as charged moves, making it formidable in the Ultra and Master Leagues.

🟡 Ultra League

In the Ultra League, Giratina-A wins a lot of the key matchups, but it has lost its top ranking and the unofficial status of the UL mascot. It is super impressive against Forretress, Virizion, Kingdra, Empoleon, but Pokémon like Jellicent, Tinkaton and Corviknight are very scary.

🟣 Master League

A handful important wins are against Dragonite, Ho-Oh, Kyogre and Therian Landorus, but there are so many Pokémon that can counter it, that it is hard to recommend it over Origin Forme in the Master League.
