The following chart shows Mega Sceptile's DPS and TDO for every fast and charge attack combination. This chart is useful for comparing the relative strength of Mega Sceptile's movesets. You can change the weather and the opposing Pokémon to see how it affects the rankings.

Legacy Elite Fast and Charge Attacks can only be obtained during special events, or by using an Elite Fast TM or an Elite Charge TM. Legacy moves are marked with an asterisk (*). The table above provides information on different moves Mega Sceptile has in Pokémon GO, along with their corresponding DPS (Damage per Second) and TDO (Total Damage Output).

      PvE AnalysisPvE Analysis

      Recommended moves

Mega Sceptile is one of the peak Mega Evolutions in Pokémon GO, blending insane raw power, a fearsome moveset, and an incredible type combo to place itself at the apex of the Grass-type meta.

This position will remain unchallenged as well, with Frenzy Plant Mega Sceptile at the very top of Grass-type damage, and Leaf Blade only surpassed by Kartana.

While Mega Sceptile is competent at handling all raid bosses weak to Grass, it is the best Pokémon to beat Water types due to its Grass/Dragon typing giving a triple resistance to Water attacks. Obviously, dodging is recommended for Mega Sceptile as it is not tanky but it can still nonchalantly take a Water move or two.

That said, some Water Pokémon tend to have an Ice-type Charged Move so be careful in those encounters as Mega Sceptile has a double weakness to Ice. In these battles, Kartana is recommended.

Mega Sceptile can be an excellent Dragon type in Pokémon GO if it learns a Dragon Fast Move from its main series games learnset. So even though this Pokémon isn't a viable Dragon type now, it can become a top counter given a moveset upgrade.

📈 Should you max out Mega Sceptile?

      A definite yes.

Mega Sceptile will remain a phenomenal Grass type Pokémon along with the chance of breaking out in the Dragon meta with a complete Dragon moveset.

It chucks out ridiculous Grass damage to decimate Water, Ground and Rock Pokémon. One of the greats to max out, that will always serve you well.

      PvP AnalysisPvP Analysis

Mega Evolutions typically aren't allowed in the GO Battle League, unless it's a limited format like the Mega Master League. Mega Sceptile is a decent addition that fails overall. For one, Grass isn't the most useful offensive type in the Master League. Sure, you breeze through the numerous Ground and Water Pokémon, but its many weaknesses (particularly to Dragon, Fairy, and Flying) pose a major hindrance to its prospects. 😶

Mega Sceptile is a PvE Pokémon and shouldn't be used even in permitted GBL formats. ❌
