⚔️ Raids

Dialga is the iconic Steel, Dragon legendary Pokémon from Sinnoh. In raids, it’s a fairly solid Dragon-type raid attacker. Though both its Shadow and Origin forms outperform its regular variant along with about a quarter century of other Dragon-types. This is because Dialga only has the combination of Dragon Breath and Draco Meteor for Dragon-type damage. So it’s lacking the truly heavy hitting Dragon-type moves. Nevertheless, it is still quite strong and its Steel subtyping means it resists damage from Dragon-type raid Pokémon, while dishing out Super-Effective damage itself.

As a Steel-type raid attacker, Dialga is even more impressive though. Now while its Shadow form still outperforms it, regular Dialga now outperforms its Origin form thanks to having a higher attack stat along with the same moveset. Not only that, it outperforms A LOT of other Pokémon as well!

🔵 Great League

Its stat spread makes it unusable in the Great League. There aren’t any at or under the 1500 CP range.

🟡 Ultra League

Dialga does not reach close to its maximum stat potential in the Ultra League, making it far too weak and frail overall to really stand a chance against the meta.

🟣 Master League

Dialga was a staple in the Master League. It, after all, has one of the highest stat totals in the game and has an absolutely fantastic defensive typing. It also has Dragon Breath, a very solid fast move, and its charged attack combination of Iron Head and Draco Meteor means it can go toe-to-toe with meta threats such as Ho-Oh and Kyogre, with some baiting.

However, do take note that I started with was. The Master League meta has shifted quite a bit with time. Nowadays you pretty much always want Dialga’s Origin Form over its original regular form thanks to its higher defenses and access to Roar of Time. These allow Origin Form to outperform regular Dialga in most scenarios. So while Dialga is still good, there’s no reason not to use one in Origin form.

Mega and Primal Raid Bonus –Mega Pokémon boost the attack power of all other Pokémon when battling in Raid Battles by 10%. Attacks that share their type with the Mega Pokémon's type(s) receive a 30% boost. However, these bonuses do not stack if there are multiple Mega-Evolved Pokémon battling simultaneously; only the higher boost will be applied.

Mega and Primal Catch Bonus –While a Pokémon is Mega-Evolved, additional XP and Candy is granted when catching a Pokémon that shares a type with it, or for any raid boss caught. These do not stack with each other. Additionally, High and Max Level Mega-Evolved Pokémon grant an increased chance to obtain Candy XL when catching a Pokémon that shares a type with it.
