Shadow Thundurus (Incarnate Forme)'s Tier Ranking & Meta Analysis

Read meta analysis

Shadow Thundurus (Incarnate Forme) PvE Analysis

Shadow Thundurus Incarnate marks a considerable improvement over the regular variant, but without access to the powerful Wildbolt Storm (learned only by the Therian Forme in Pokémon GO), it remains a decent choice best suited for lower tier Raids. Its damage figures position it below Shadow Magnezone and Zekrom in the Electric meta, and even if you were to exclude Megas and Shadows, Pokémon like Regieleki, Zeraora, Xurkitree all eclipse it in PvE viability. On the other hand, when you take the entire Electric meta into account, Mega Raichu Y’s performance entirely puts Shadow Thundurus Incarnate out of the window. Not only does Mega Raichu Y hit much harder with both Zap Cannon+ and Wild Charge, it is also cheaper and easier to power up. There is honestly no point investing in a Shadow Thundurus Incarnate. If you really like Thundurus, just go with Thundurus Therian instead.

Shadow Thundurus (Incarnate Forme) PvP Analysis

Recommended moves

🔵 Great League

Shadow Thundurus Incarnate is a run-of-the-mill addition to the Great League, getting wins against Water and Flying types, and a matchup against Fighting types. That's all there's to it and it's also quite easy to strategize around this Pokémon. In the endgame, it is quite bad as it doesn't have strong enough moves to get the job done, making Shadow Thundurus Incarnate easy fodder for your opponent's Closer role Pokémon.

🟡 Ultra League

The lack of KOing ability and a strong roster of opponents makes Shadow Thundurus Incarnate bad in the Ultra League. It can still take down Water types but it's quite unreliable in that role, as it fails to beat Blastoise, Jellicent, Lapras, and Tentacruel. Even Annihilape and Primeape (stronger in the Ultra League than the Great League) manage to make quick work of Shadow Thundurus Incarnate. Overall, it's just disappointing and it needs a major moveset overhaul to make an impact in PvP.

🟣 Master League

Shadow Thundurus Incarnate is no match for the exceptional power levels of the Master League, displaying an abysmal performance in this environment.
