Overview

An Egg Incubator is a limited-use hatching device that lets you incubate an additional Egg alongside your permanent orange Infinite Incubator. It holds one Egg at a time and breaks after hatching three Eggs. Unlike a Super Incubator, a standard Egg Incubator walks at normal 1x speed and does not reduce the required distance.

Because each completed hatch consumes one of the three uses regardless of whether you walk a 2 km Egg or a 12 km Egg, saving your three-use Egg Incubators for longer Eggs covers more distance per charge.

How to get it

  • Buy an individual Egg Incubator or a bundle from the in-game shop, or earn one through level-up rewards, Special and Timed Research, GO Pass ranks, Web Store Reward Road milestones, and high PokéStop Showcase placements.

How to use it

  1. Open Pokémon Storage, select the Eggs tab, choose an Egg, and start incubation with an Egg Incubator.

  2. Walk the displayed distance. An incubator holds one Egg at a time; you cannot remove the Egg partway through.

Worth knowing

A use is spent per Egg, not per kilometer. A 2 km Egg and a 12 km Egg each consume one of the three uses.

Hatch pools are determined by the Egg you received. Buying a faster incubator does not itself improve Shiny odds or IVs.

Parallel incubation changes output, not the distance per Egg

Each incubator tracks one Egg independently during the same walk. Starting three 5 km Eggs together can therefore produce three hatches after 5 km of counted travel, rather than requiring three separate 5 km walks.

A limited-use incubator spends a use on a completed hatch regardless of whether the Egg is short or long distance. The three-use limit makes your choice of Egg relevant to how much walking you cover before replacing the item. It does not improve the hatch pool or the Pokémon’s IVs.

Shop and free rewards

A single three-use Egg Incubator costs 150 PokéCoins in the shop, while event boxes and bundles frequently offer multiple incubators at a lower price per hatch. Under the current leveling system (Trainer Levels 1 to 80), you earn 27 free Egg Incubators—enough for 81 hatches—starting with one at level 10, compared to the launch-era progression that awarded the first at level 6.

Single Egg Incubators are awarded at levels 10, 15, 20, 25, 35, 42, 45, 48, 52, 58, 62, 68, 74, and 77; two at levels 30, 40, and 55; three at levels 50 and 65; and four at level 60 (while milestone levels 70, 75, and 80 award Super Incubators instead). You can also earn Egg Incubators through Special and Timed Research, GO Pass reward tracks, Web Store Reward Road milestones, and high PokéStop Showcase placements.

To use one, open Pokémon Storage, switch to the Eggs tab, tap an Egg, and select the Egg Incubator from your list.

Comparing cost and remaining uses

At the listed 150-PokéCoin individual price, a three-use Incubator costs 50 PokéCoins per hatch. Compare bundles using their actual number of incubators and uses, especially when the box also includes items you do not need.

Check the remaining-use number before selecting a device. Some event rewards are single-use incubators rather than the normal three-use item, so count the uses shown in your inventory instead of assuming every reward supplies three hatches.

Putting a 2 km Egg and a 10 km Egg into separate incubators before the same walk advances both together. After the first hatch, refill that empty incubator if you want to keep hatching in parallel. Neither device refills automatically.
