Overview

The Super Incubator is a limited-use item that hatches Pokémon Eggs faster than a standard Incubator by reducing the required walking distance to two-thirds of the normal amount. It holds one Egg at a time and breaks after three hatches, with each completed hatch consuming one use regardless of the Egg's distance tier. Because the reduction is proportional, longer Eggs save more total kilometers per use.

When an event features a hatch-distance bonus that stacks with the Super Incubator, both reductions apply to Eggs placed during the event window; check the distance displayed on the incubation screen when placing the Egg.

How to get it

  • Buy it from the in-game Shop or Pokémon GO Web Store, earn it from Trainer Level 70, 75, and 80 milestones, or claim it through eligible Research, GO Pass Deluxe tracks, Referral milestones, and PokéStop Showcases.

How to use it

  1. Open Pokémon Storage, select the Eggs tab, choose an Egg, and select the Super Incubator to begin incubation.

  2. Walk the displayed distance. An incubator holds one Egg at a time; you cannot remove the Egg partway through.

Worth knowing

The largest absolute distance saving comes from long Eggs: four kilometers saved on a 12 km Egg, compared with about 0.67 km on a 2 km Egg.

Hatch pools are determined by the Egg you received. Buying a faster incubator does not itself improve Shiny odds or IVs.

Distance comparison

The table below shows the walking distance required for each standard Egg tier before any event bonuses, rounded to two decimal places. The Super Incubator applies a 2/3 distance modifier (saving one-third of the base distance), rather than cutting the distance in half.

Distance comparison
EggSuper Incubator
2 km1.33 km
5 km3.33 km
7 km4.67 km
10 km6.67 km
12 km8 km

Distance saved is larger on a longer Egg

Reducing distance to two-thirds saves one-third of the original requirement. For a 2 km Egg that saves about 0.67 km; for a 12 km Egg it saves 4 km. Both consume one use.

If your goal is to maximize distance saved per limited use, a longer Egg gives more value. If your goal is to clear a slot before a particular reward or event, a short Egg may still be the more useful choice. The speed boost does not change which Pokémon can hatch or improve its stats.

Shop and rewards

A standalone Super Incubator costs 200 PokéCoins in the in-game Shop, which works out to about 66.67 PokéCoins per hatch across its three uses. By comparison, a regular three-use Egg Incubator costs 150 PokéCoins (50 PokéCoins per hatch); the extra PokéCoins pay solely for shorter walking distances, not better hatch pools or higher Shiny odds.

Outside of single purchases, Super Incubators frequently appear in in-game Shop and Pokémon GO Web Store event bundles, paid Timed Research tickets, and the paid GO Pass Deluxe reward track. Under the current leveling system (Levels 1–80), Trainers also receive guaranteed Super Incubators as level-up rewards at Level 70 (3), Level 75 (2), and Level 80 (5), and can earn additional ones through Referral program milestones and top finishes in PokéStop Showcases.

Using an event distance bonus

When an event allows its hatch-distance bonus to stack with a Super Incubator, the game multiplies the Egg's base distance by both modifiers:

Required Distance = Base Distance × Event Modifier × Incubator Modifier

(where Base Distance is the Egg's normal kilometer requirement, Event Modifier is the event reduction such as 1/2 or 1/4, and Incubator Modifier is 2/3 for a Super Incubator).

For example, if you place a 12 km Egg into a Super Incubator during an eligible half-distance event, the required walking distance drops from 12 km to 12 × 1/2 × 2/3 = 4 km. Under the same stacking rules during a quarter-distance event, that same 12 km Egg requires 12 × 1/4 × 2/3 = 2 km. Because some events do not allow distance bonuses to stack, always check the distance displayed on screen before confirming incubation.

Hatch-distance bonuses normally apply to Eggs placed in an incubator during the eligible window. Starting the Egg before that window does not retroactively shorten it. You cannot take an Egg out of a regular Incubator midway through and move it into a Super Incubator.

The Daily Adventure Egg uses its own dedicated device and cannot receive the Super Incubator’s reduction. Keep it separate when planning how far a batch of ordinary Eggs needs to hatch.
