Overview

The Infinite Incubator—displayed in your Item Bag and incubation menu as Incubator ∞—is a permanent device that hatches Pokémon Eggs as you walk. Unlocked at Trainer Level 2 in the current leveling system, it holds one standard 2 km, 5 km, 7 km, 10 km, or 12 km Egg at a time and walks at the baseline 1× distance rate.

Unlike standard Egg Incubators and Super Incubators that break after three hatches, or the Timed Incubator that expires when its timer runs out, Incubator ∞ never loses a use or expires. To hatch multiple standard Eggs simultaneously, you must run limited-use or timed incubators alongside it.

By contrast, the 1 km Daily Adventure Egg unlocked at Level 15 automatically goes into its own dedicated Daily Adventure Incubator on your first login of the day; it never occupies Incubator ∞, and Incubator ∞ cannot incubate a Daily Adventure Egg.

How to get it

  • Awarded at Trainer Level 2 alongside 10 Poké Balls and 5 Nanab Berries when Egg hatching unlocks in the current leveling system. Every Trainer receives one Incubator ∞ and never needs to buy replacement uses.

How to use it

  1. Open Pokémon Storage, select the Eggs tab, tap a 2 km, 5 km, 7 km, 10 km, or 12 km Egg, and choose Incubator ∞ to start incubation.

  2. Walk the required distance to hatch the Egg. Incubator ∞ walks at the standard 1× distance rate, holds one Egg at a time, and locks that Egg in until it hatches.

Worth knowing

Keep Incubator ∞ working on 2 km or 5 km Eggs when you want to cycle through slots quickly and save three-use Egg Incubators or Super Incubators for longer distances.

An Egg's species pool, IVs, and Shiny chance are set when you obtain the Egg. Hatching it in an Egg Incubator or Super Incubator instead of Incubator ∞ does not change what hatches.

Choose between freeing a slot and saving limited uses

Every incubator holds only one Egg at a time, and you cannot cancel incubation or swap Eggs partway through. Placing an Egg into Incubator ∞ commits that slot until you walk the full required distance and the Egg hatches.

Incubator ∞ is ideal for 2 km and 5 km Eggs when you want to clear Egg storage slots without burning a charge on a three-use Egg Incubator or Super Incubator. Because a standard Egg Incubator costs 150 PokéCoins and a Super Incubator costs 200 PokéCoins for three uses, using them on 2 km Eggs spends limited charges for very little distance saved.

Saving limited-use incubators for 10 km or 12 km Eggs lets you hatch long-distance Eggs in parallel while Incubator ∞ steadily turns over shorter ones. Whichever incubator you choose, the Pokémon inside, its IVs, and whether it is Shiny are already locked in when you receive the Egg.

Keeping the free incubator working

After an Egg hatches, open Pokémon Storage and select the Eggs tab to place your next Egg manually; Incubator ∞ does not automatically load another Egg. You can spot it at the front of your incubator list by its orange casing and infinity symbol (∞) instead of a remaining-use counter. Every Trainer receives only one Incubator ∞, so incubating two or more standard Eggs at once always requires pairing it with an Egg Incubator, Super Incubator, or active Timed Incubator.

Place an Egg into Incubator ∞ before you start walking, as distance tracked while an Egg sits unincubated in Pokémon Storage never counts toward hatching it. With Adventure Sync enabled, distance recorded while the app is closed counts toward your active Egg just like walking with the game open.

In addition, unlike the Daily Adventure Incubator, Incubator ∞ benefits from event hatch-distance bonuses—such as 1/2 or 1/4 Egg Hatch Distance—whenever you place an Egg into it while the bonus is active.

Using Incubator ∞ on 2 km Eggs clears space quickly before a hatch event, while placing a 10 km or 12 km Egg inside ties up your only free slot for a much longer walk. Because Incubator ∞ has unlimited uses, incubating a 10 km or 12 km Egg costs no items or PokéCoins—the only tradeoff is how long your permanent slot remains occupied before you can start the next Egg.
