Shadow Pangoro PvE Analysis

Recommended moves

Shadow Pangoro has a workable ATK that could have potentially made it usable at least in lower tier Raids. Unfortunately, it's tainted with a poor choice of moves such as Close Combat and Night Slash, leaving it stranded in the meta.

🔵 Great League

Shadow Pangoro's best performance comes in the Great League, where even though it's only marginally better than the non-Shadow, it is a red alert threat. The biggest improvement comes in the (0-0) shield scenario where Shadow Pangoro picks up Shadow Sableye, Kingdra, Jellicent, and Hisuian Electrode, at the cost of giving up Corviknight (whom it beats in (2-2) though!). Also, in (1-1), it loses to the crucial Deoxys (Defense Forme). It makes up for this loss by claiming both Talonflame and Marowak, but know that it's best to have an answer to the Mythical in your team.

🟡 Ultra League

While you can argue that Shadow Pangoro is overall better than the non-Shadow in the Great League, they are more or less the same in the Ultra League.

With any shields down, be it (1-1) or (0-0), the regular variant edges past the Shadow, beating the likes of Giratina (Altered Forme), Regidrago, Alolan Muk, Malamar, and Shadow Ninetales, with Shadow Pangoro taking out Corviknight, Ampharos, Skeledirge, Dondozo, and Swampert. In the (0-0), the Shadow gets Blastoise, Shadow Ninetales, Alolan Ninetales, Corviknight, and Zygarde, while the regular overpowers Giratina (Altered Forme) again, Malamar, Regidrago, Dondozo, and Swampert. Quite the sidegrade these two are!

But when you come to (2-2), Shadow Pangoro is clearly preferred, as it destroys Zygarde, Malamar, Regidrago, and Talonflame, while losing to Seismitoad, Rillaboom, and Corviknight, and of course, Giratina (in this case, even the non-Shadow loses).
