Overview

The GO Battle League Timed Research Pass is a free seasonal ticket in the in-game shop that unlocks a multi-page Timed Research track for GO Battle League play. It is completely separate from the green Premium Battle Pass: it does not grant entry to Raid Battles and does not unlock the premium reward track in GO Battle League sets.

Trainers must claim the pass from the shop after a new season begins, then complete its tasks and collect the rewards before the seasonal research deadline expires.

How to get it

  • Claim the free pass in the in-game shop at the start of a GO Battle League season during its limited availability window.

How to use it

  1. After claiming the pass, track your active tasks in the Events (Timed Research) tab.

  2. Complete tasks and collect rewards before the Timed Research expires.

Worth knowing

Read the current season’s tasks and rewards: they can change between seasons.

Claim the pass right when the season starts so your early catches and battles count toward the tasks. You can also use a Star Piece before claiming completed Stardust tasks on a page to boost the payout by 50%.

What the seasonal research can include

For the Twilight Trails season (September 8 – December 1, 2026), the Timed Research spans six pages. Page 1 focuses on catching Pokémon—with three tasks to catch 10 Pokémon and three tasks to catch 20 Pokémon—and awards encounters with Fearow, Clodsire, Forretress, Galarian Corsola, Galarian Stunfisk, and Galarian Weezing, plus 10,000 Stardust, 5 Fast TMs, and 5 Charged TMs for completing the page. Pages 2 through 6 each require 100 battles and 50 wins in the GO Battle League.

Across the full track, rewards include Stardust, Fast TMs, Charged TMs, a Star Piece, 10 Rare Candy XL (2 per page on Pages 2–6), an Elite Fast TM (Page 5), and an Elite Charged TM (Page 6). Earlier seasons originally required 100 wins per page before the September 2025 update changed battle pages to 100 battles and 50 wins, and the introductory catch page was added in March 2026. Future seasons can adjust these tasks and rewards again.

Make each page count

Claim the free pass in the shop before relying on your catches or battles to advance it; matches played before you pick up the pass do not count retroactively. Because only one page is active at a time, you must complete and claim every task on your current page—plus the page completion reward—before the next page’s counters begin tracking. Rank-up rewards, standard five-battle set rewards, and this Timed Research operate as separate reward systems.

If an active page requires 100 battles and 50 wins, playing 100 battles with 40 wins leaves 10 wins still needed. Reaching the battle count alone does not finish the page. Check both counters before moving on.

Timed Research disappears at its stated deadline, including unclaimed rewards. Claim completed tasks as you go, even if you do not expect to finish the entire track. No Premium Battle Pass is needed merely to progress this free research.
