Shadow Dewgong PvE Analysis

Recommended moves

Dewgong's stats are so mid that even the Shadow boost isn't sufficient to push it into relevancy in Raids. Needless to say, Shadow Dewgong is bad for Gym defense, given the nerf to its DEF stat. Be it Raids or Gyms, Shadow Dewgong should never be associated with PvE combat.

🔵 Great League

One of the most defining factors about regular Dewgong that makes it such a popular Great League pick is its remarkable performance across all shield scenarios. No matter which instance of the game you bring it out, you know it will add value to your gameplay.

On the other hand, Shadow Dewgong is a clear downgrade. With the loss in bulk, Shadow Dewgong loses several battles it actually wins in its regular variant, including Empoleon, Shadow Feraligatr, Shadow Sealeo, Galarian Weezing, Talonflame, Tinkaton, Florges, Stunfisk, and Galarian Stunfisk. Even in (2-2) shields, regular Dewgong bags more wins, and in (1-1), they are balanced.

The huge drop in performance from Shadow Dewgong with no shields makes it the inferior choice by all accounts, so just forget about this Shadow Pokémon when creating teams for the GO Battle League.

With a max CP of only 2245, Shadow Dewgong disappoints in the Ultra League and is completely unviable for the Master League.
