      Recommended moves

⚔️ Raids – Proving three heads are better than one, Magneton is a competent raid attacker as both a pure Electric attacker or Steel. With its movesets being Spark / Zap Cannon or Metal Sound / Flash Cannon respectively. Although Magnezone performs better in both cases, Magneton could make a useful budget raid attacker, especially to counter Fairy or Flying type bosses.

🛡️ Gyms – As a defender, Magneton doesn't have the staying power to hold a magnetic lock on its position. Although it could pair well with a Water/Flying type defender, the Fighting types that Magneton is weak to are far too commonly used to defeat gyms.

🔵 Great League - Despite its fantastic typing and improved movepool, Magneton isn't an optimal Pokémon for PVP. In all leagues, the fully evolved Magnezone has much more favorable matchups thanks to its increased stats.
