Shadow or not, Araquanid is not a Raid Pokémon. In Gyms, you should rather go with regular Araquanid due to the higher bulk.

🔵 Great League

Araquanid is impressive in the Great League, but Shadow Araquanid is even better. It manages to overcome Annihilape, something the non-Shadow variant embarrassingly doesn't beat. Moreover, it also takes out Fairy types like Wigglytuff, Togekiss, Clefable, and Galarian Weezing, as well as Shadow Empoleon and Lickilicky.

Sure, it struggles against Charjabug and Shadow Steelix, but Shadow Araquanid is overall fantastic and a major threat in this meta.

With a max CP of only 2065, Shadow Araquanid isn't strong enough for the other PvP Leagues.
