How to get it
- Earn one from a GO Pass track or other reward that explicitly offers it. Which tracks include one changes by release.
How to use it
- Select a friend who is at least a Great Friend and is not already Lucky with you.
- Use the trinket before its displayed expiration date; becoming Lucky does not itself perform the trade.
Worth knowing
Agree on the trade before using a scarce trinket. Normal trade eligibility and costs still apply.
Lucky Pokémon need less Stardust to power up, but their Candy costs are not halved.
What the guaranteed Lucky trade actually buys
Lucky Pokémon have an IV floor of 12 in each stat and cost 50% less Stardust to power up. The Candy cost remains unchanged, and the discount does not extend to unlocking a second Charged Attack.
For example, a power-up budget of 120,000 Stardust for an ordinary Pokémon becomes 60,000 for an otherwise equivalent Lucky Pokémon. A Lucky trade still rerolls the IVs: the 12–15 range has 4³ = 64 possible combinations, so Lucky does not mean a guaranteed 15/15/15.
The discount is a long-term benefit. Choose a trade partner and Pokémon you actually plan to develop rather than treating the trinket as a guarantee of the best possible appraisal.
