Overview

The Glacial Lure Module is a special PokéStop Lure Module that attracts wild Pokémon for 30 minutes, specifically favoring Water- and Ice-type species, and enables Eevee to evolve into Glaceon and Crabrawler to evolve into Crabominable. It attracts more Pokémon than a standard Lure Module and signals its presence on the map with falling snowflakes and ice crystals around the PokéStop.

Any Trainer standing within interaction range of the PokéStop can encounter the Pokémon it draws in and use its evolution effect, provided they have the required Candy.

How to get it

  • Check the in-game shop for individual Glacial Lure Modules (180 PokéCoins when listed individually) or rotating bundles that include this lure.

  • Complete eligible Special or Timed Research tasks, progress through event reward tracks, or earn top finishes in PokéStop Showcases when this module is in the reward pool.

How to use it

  1. At Trainer Level 6 or higher, open an in-range PokéStop, tap its empty Lure Module slot, and select the Glacial Lure Module. Only one lure can occupy the slot at a time.

  2. Stay within interaction range of the lured PokéStop—marked by falling snowflakes on the map—to encounter the Pokémon it attracts and unlock evolutions for Eevee and Crabrawler.

Worth knowing

Gather the required Candy for both Eevee and Crabrawler before placing a Glacial Lure Module so you can evolve both species—and any additional copies—during a single 30-minute timer.

A Glacial Lure Module normally lasts 30 minutes. During events that extend Lure Module timers, check the official event announcement to confirm whether special lures are included alongside standard Lure Modules.

Evolutions near this lure

You can use another Trainer’s active lure. Stand within interaction range and check the evolution preview before confirming. Costs below are the standard, undiscounted Candy costs.

Placing and sharing a lure

Once you reach Trainer Level 6, you can install a Glacial Lure Module by tapping an in-range PokéStop and selecting the module from its empty Lure Module slot. Placing the module consumes the item and activates the effect for 30 minutes under normal conditions. All nearby Trainers share the lured encounters and can trigger the special evolutions while standing within range; the PokéStop does not need to be lured by you.

Glaceon’s name trick

Renaming an Eevee to Rea allows you to evolve it into Glaceon for 25 Eevee Candy without being near an active Glacial Lure Module. This nickname trick works only once per account. After you have used Rea, standing within range of a PokéStop with an active Glacial Lure Module is the repeatable method to evolve additional Glaceon. Crabrawler has no nickname shortcut and always requires an active Glacial Lure Module alongside 50 Crabrawler Candy to evolve into Crabominable.

Before evolving Eevee or Crabrawler

Stand within interaction range of the lured PokéStop, open your Pokémon storage, and check the evolution button on Eevee or Crabrawler. When you are close enough, a dedicated evolution option featuring the Glacial Lure Module icon and a preview of Glaceon or Crabominable appears.

If Eevee's evolution button still displays a question mark or a different evolution, walk closer to the PokéStop and let your map position update before confirming. Seeing snowflakes around a distant PokéStop on the map is not enough if your avatar is outside interaction range.

One active Glacial Lure can support both evolution lines and repeated evolutions during its timer. Evolving a Pokémon does not consume another module or shorten the lure’s duration. You still pay the Candy cost each time.

Water- and Ice-type Pokémon are the lure's encounter themes rather than a guarantee on every spawn: roughly half of a Glacial Lure Module's spawns are drawn from its dedicated cold-weather pool, while the rest come from the local wild spawn pool. Seasonal rotations and event bonuses can also alter which species appear or extend the lure's duration.

If you only need to evolve Eevee or Crabrawler, prepare your Pokémon and Candy beforehand and check nearby PokéStops for an active Glacial Lure Module before spending one of your own.
