The following chart shows Zamazenta's DPS and TDO for every fast and charge attack combination. This chart is useful for comparing the relative strength of Zamazenta's movesets. You can change the weather and the opposing Pokémon to see how it affects the rankings.

Legacy Elite Fast and Charge Attacks can only be obtained during special events, or by using an Elite Fast TM or an Elite Charge TM. Legacy moves are marked with an asterisk (*). The table above provides information on different moves Zamazenta has in Pokémon GO, along with their corresponding DPS (Damage per Second) and TDO (Total Damage Output).

    PvE AnalysisPvE Analysis

Despite a high ATK stat, Zamazenta (Hero of Many Battles) is extremely disappointing for Raids due to the lack of a good moveset. Even its coverage moves are subpar.

    • As a Fighting type, it has Metal Claw and Close Combat to work with, making it shell out DPS in the range of Fighting Pokémon like Sawk and Passimian. As such, Zamazenta (Hero of Many Battles) is a rather poor choice for Raids, with even old classics like regular Machamp outperforming it.
    • On paper, Ice Fang and Moonblast look like they help Zamazenta (Hero of Many Battles) counter Dragon-type Raid Bosses. Since this Pokémon doesn't take super-effective damage from Dragon moves and is naturally bulky, this may seem reasonable, but the high energy cost of Moonblast and lack of STAB make Zamazenta (Hero of Many Battles) inferior for challenging Raids. Use this combo only in lower tier Raid battles.
    • Metal Claw and Iron Head is a surprisingly neat combo against Rock-type Raid Bosses since Zamazenta (Hero of Many Battles) resists their strongest moves. However, the DPS is still lacking, and it's better to use this combo in lower tier Raids. Rock has many weaknesses, and Pokémon like Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre make Zamazenta (Hero of Many Battles) a forgotten Pokémon in important Raids.
    • Snarl and Crunch make a low damage pair, and without STAB, it is not worthwhile on Zamazenta (Hero of Many Battles).

    PvP AnalysisPvP Analysis

Fighting is an excellent offensive type, but on the flip side, it's just bad defensively since it suffers from weaknesses to Fairy, Flying, and Psychic - three common types you come across in the GO Battle League.

    🔵 Great League

    Not applicable

    🟡 Ultra League

Without a viable STAB move and with weak coverage moves, Zamazenta Hero functions terribly in the Ultra League. Moreover, its high stats aren't even suited for this format. Bad dog! 🐕

    🟣 Master League

Zamazenta Hero's poor moveset affects it badly in the Master League. It was once decent in these battles, but with several powerhouses all over the Master League, and with the Fighting not getting much usage unless the said Pokémon has good moves (like Marshadow or even a spice pick like Annihilape), this Legendary is not in the roundup for teams that want to win in the GO Battle League.

Ultimately, a good boi 🐶 but Zacian is just better 🐺
