PvE Analysis
Recommended moves
- Bug Attacker:
Fury Cutter
X-Scissor - Water Attacker:
Waterfall
Razor Shell
Golisopod has decent enough stats to give it some viability both as a Bug and Water type Pokémon. That said, Bug types aren't too useful in Pokémon GO and it's heavily outclassed as a Water type. Use Golisopod because it looks menacing but don’t expect much out of it. 🫠
⚔️ Raids
It is far behind many of its peers in the Bug and Water type metas. Use it in low tier raids but absolutely don’t try it against 5-Star, Mega, or Shadow raids. 🥲
🛡️ Gyms
Golisopod is reasonably bulky and it isn’t going down in a whip, making it a good gym defender. 👍 And to repeat, it looks incredible! 🤩
💥 The best moves for Golisopod in PvE are Fury Cutter and X-Scissor (Bug type) or Waterfall and Razor Shell (Water type)

Golisopod is a solid PvP Pokémon due to its quick and hard-hitting moves, and balanced stats. Additionally, it has useful resistances to Fighting, Ground, Ice, Steel, and Water… all notable offensive types in the Great and Ultra League. These impressive traits designate Golisopod as a worthy Pokémon for your Great and Ultra League teams. 😄
🔵 Great League
Thanks to its super handy resistances, Golisopod efficiently handles big threats like Annihilape, Primeape, Tinkaton, Clodsire, Dewgong, and Alolan Sandslash. It also beats Talonflame, Grumpig, Feraligatr, and Lapras due to its overwhelming offensive presence. A fantastic Pokémon overall! 👌
🟡 Ultra League
While it slows down a little, Golisopod is still a menace in the Ultra League, where it beats Venusaur, Cobalion, Dusknoir, and the same targets as the Great League. It also gives Giratina Altered a tough time thanks to Shadow Claw, a move that also gives Golisopod good coverage and rather quick access to its Charged Moves Aqua Jet and X-Scissor, two STAB moves that can do quite a number! 🙂
🟣 Master League
Golisopod is a surprisingly strong contender in the Master League, beating the likes of Togekiss, Xerneas, Primarina, Mamoswine, Dusk Mane Necrozma, Dawn Wings Necrozma, Mewtwo, Groudon, Zacian (Hero), Excadrill, Metagross, and Solgaleo! 😳
Trainers don't use Golisopod in the Master League often so most don’t know what to expect when facing this huge insectoid! Go, throw their strategies out of the window and snatch victory from their hands with Golisopod! 😈
💥 The best moves for Golisopod in PvP are Shadow Claw, X-Scissor, and Aqua Jet.
