The following chart shows Volcarona's DPS and TDO for every fast and charge attack combination. This chart is useful for comparing the relative strength of Volcarona's movesets. You can change the weather and the opposing Pokémon to see how it affects the rankings.

Legacy Elite Fast and Charge Attacks can only be obtained during special events, or by using an Elite Fast TM or an Elite Charge TM. Legacy moves are marked with an asterisk (*). The table above provides information on different moves Volcarona has in Pokémon GO, along with their corresponding DPS (Damage per Second) and TDO (Total Damage Output).

      PvE AnalysisPvE Analysis

      Recommended moves

It takes 400 Candies to evolve Larvesta into Volcarona. Is it worth the effort? Absolutely! 🤩

Volcarona boasts a high Attack stat of 264 along with decent Defense and Stamina. Furthermore, it has a superb Bug and Fire-type moveset, allowing you to use it as either type with a few Elite Fast TMs (switching between Overheat & Bug Bite), while keeping Overheat + Bug Buzz as Charged Moves. 🙂

A prized Pokémon to have, and it has the potential to reach greater heights if its signature move Fiery Dance is treated well in terms of stats. 🔥

💥 The best PvE moveset for Volcarona is Bug Bite/Fire Spin, Bug Buzz, and Overheat.

      ⚔️ Raids

Volcarona excels in both the Bug and Fire-type meta, but Bug > Fire in terms of overall effectiveness. This Bug/Fire offensive combo makes Volcarona especially strong against Grass-type Raid Bosses. 🍃

      🛡️ Gyms

First and foremost, Volcarona is a real flex on top of gyms. 😌 However, its double weakness to Rock-type attacks makes it fall quickly.

      PvP AnalysisPvP Analysis

      Recommended moves

Volcarona is clunky to use. Its bulk isn't impressive enough, and a sluggish moveset leaves this Pokémon unsatisfactory in PvP. More importantly, you'll always find at least a couple of better Pokémon to fulfill Volcarona’s role. 👀

On a positive note, its ability to take down Steel-types is appreciated. 👍

💥 The best PvP moveset for Volcarona is Fire Spin, Overheat, and Bug Buzz.

      🔵 Great League

      • Bug: Charjabug, Ariados.
      • Fire: Shadow Marowak, Talonflame.
      • Just use them instead. 🫠

      🟡 Ultra League

Volcarona is usable in the Ultra League, but a traditionally slow moveset prevents it from keeping up with the meta. 🥲

      🟣 Master League

Arguably Volcarona's best League due to its high CP, but that doesn’t mean much, since Volcarona is still unable to make a breakthrough. As such, it's a spicy pick that can secure a few wins (particularly against Steel and Fairy), but it loses more often than not. 😶
