      PvE AnalysisPvE Analysis

Trainers! All rise for one of the best Shadows in Pokémon GO: the insanely powerful Shadow Mamoswine. 🦣

This is one of the overall best Ice types and a phenomenal Ground type as well. Dragon types with a double weakness to Ice types shiver at the very thought of this mammoth monster and no matter that some Pokémon outclass it as this will always be a worthy Pokémon to use. 👏

if you have one with good IVs, raise it to level 50 and enjoy one of the most rewarding finds in Pokémon GO. 🏆

      ⚔️ Raids

The introduction of Black and White Kyurem may have damped Shadow Mamoswine’s usage quite a bit, but it's still a top Ice type, right behind the Kyurem duo and Galarian Darmanitan (Zen Mode). Basically, you're still going to be using Shadow Mamoswine in your entourage! ❄️

As a Ground type, it's still amazing but outclassed by a few more Pokémon than in the Ice typing. Behind Groudon (Primal and Shadow), Garchomp (Mega and Shadow), Shadow Excadrill, and Landorus Therian, sits Shadow Mamoswine as a preferred Ground Pokémon. 👏

      🛡️ Gyms

Shadow Pokémon are usually not advised for Gym defense. Besides, Shadow Mamoswine's DEF stat is low + it has many weaknesses (Fighting, Fire, Grass, Water, and Steel).

💎 Shadow Mamoswine’s best attackset for PvE is: Powder Snow and Avalanche (Ice) Mud-Slap and High Horsepower (Ground)

      PvE AnalysisPvP Analysis

      🔵 Great League

Shadow Piloswine's stats are better tuned for the Great League so it does the same things as Shadow Mamoswine but better. 👀

      🟡 Ultra League

Once again, Shadow Mamoswine can easily be substituted by other Pokémon who do the job better (Shadow Piloswine, Lapras, Shadow Golurk, Gliscor, etc). Use those instead.

      🟣 Master League

Master League is Shadow Mamoswine's best bet in PvP! Ice and Ground are phenomenal offensive types in this format, allowing Shadow Mamoswine to rampage through Dragon, Ground, Flying, and Steel types. This lets this Pokémon break cores or at least, dish out huge amounts of damage that weaken the opposition significantly. 👊

Its low DEF and host of weaknesses may be a little bothersome but the exceptional coverage it brings to the table is invaluable. 👏

💎 Shadow Mamoswine's best attackset for PvP is Powder Snow, Icicle Spear and High Horsepower.

      Pokédex informationMore information

Mega and Primal Raid BonusMega Pokémon boost the attack power of all other Pokémon when battling in Raid Battles by 10%. Attacks that share their type with the Mega Pokémon's type(s) receive a 30% boost. However, these bonuses do not stack if there are multiple Mega-Evolved Pokémon battling simultaneously; only the higher boost will be applied.

Mega and Primal Catch BonusWhile a Pokémon is Mega-Evolved, additional XP and Candy is granted when catching a Pokémon that shares a type with it, or for any raid boss caught. These do not stack with each other. Additionally, High and Max Level Mega-Evolved Pokémon grant an increased chance to obtain Candy XL when catching a Pokémon that shares a type with it.

Note on Primal Kyogre, Primal Groudon, and Mega Rayquaza
      • Primal Kyogre boosts Water-, Electric- and Bug-type attacks and Pokémon.
      • Primal Groudon boosts Fire-, Grass- and Ground-type attacks and Pokémon.
      • Mega Rayquaza boosts Flying-, Dragon- and Psychic-type attacks and Pokémon.

                Catch probability with multiple throws

In order to help Trainers understand their overall odds when catching Shadow Mamoswine, we enable the functionality to showing the total chance to catch it depending on the number of available throws. We calculate this chance as if you repeated the same throw N-number of times.

To activate this functionality, change the number of Number of throws to a value greater than 1. The Number of throws option is available in the configuration options above the chart

                Catch rate formula

Pokémon GO catch rate formula can be expressed as follows:

                • CATCH_MULTIPLIERS = ball * curve * berry * throwType * (type1Medal + type2Medal / 2)
                • CATCH_RATE = 1 - Math.pow(1 - baseCatchRate / (2 * cpm), CATCH_MULTIPLIERS)

There are different multipliers that come into play when calculating catch rate.

Curved throws are more effective than regular throws, stronger types of Poké Ball have a higher catch rate, and using a Razz Berry or a Golden Razz Berry also improves your chances.
