Stone Edge
Shadow Rhydon is a great upgrade over regular Groudon, and the ATK boost places it higher in the rankings, just around the level of performance we see from Mega Swampert, Excadrill, Garchomp, and Mamoswine. All this sounds really grand but gets awkward for Shadow Rhydon as you just need to evolve it to get a much better attacker in the form of Shadow Rhyperior. Also, Shadow Rhydon doesn’t have a Rock-type Fast Attack, which makes it quite a poor choice as a Rock-attacker (unlike Shadow Rhyperior which can fill both roles).
Until you gather enough Candy and the Sinnoh Stone to evolve it into a Shadow Rhyperior, you can be glad that you at least have a solid Ground-type attacker in your collection.

🔵 Great League
With its sluggish moveset and threats from all corners, Shadow Rhydon is very disappointing in the Great League. It gets a handful of wins and loses to everything else, with some losses coming within seconds. Don't use Shadow Rhydon in PvP.
🟡 Ultra League
Regular Rhydon is pathetic in the Ultra League, and the Shadow is worse. Being painfully slow against such an aggressive meta brings zero rewards.
🟣 Master League
Using Shadow Rhydon in the Master League is one of the worst GO Battle League decisions you can take. So just evolve it and you'll be surprised how good Shadow Rhyperior is!
