Shadow Lurantis PvE Analysis

Recommended moves

⚔️ Raids

Shadow Lurantis, despite the Shadow attack boost, struggles to make an impact in the Grass raid meta. With just 192 attack and max CP of 2711, it falls behind even many non-shadow Grass attackers like Torterra, Venusaur and Tsareena.

  • Fury Cutter, Razor Leaf and Leafage: Shadow Lurantis’ Fast Attacks. These attacks are strong in their own right, but with Shadow Lurantis’ modest attack stat, they don’t have much of an impact.
  • Leaf Blade, Leaf Storm and Trailblaze: Shadow Lurantis’ Grass type Charged Attacks. Just like its Fast Attacks, Shadow Lurantis does have access to decent Charged Attacks as well.
  • X-Scissor and Superpower: Shadow Lurantis’ other Charged Attacks. They are more PvP than PvE oriented.

🛡️ Gyms

With just 169 defense stat and along with defense nerf to Shadow Pokémon, Shadow Lurantis isn’t recommended for Gym defense.

Shadow Lurantis PvP Analysis

Recommended moves

🔵 Great League

Shadow Lurantis has a pretty strong showing in Great League, especially in a water dominant meta. With access to moves like Leaf Blade and Superpower, it rakes up a lot of meta relevant wins. It is strong and definitely worth a Trainer's investment. It is stronger than its non-shadow counterpart.

🟡 Ultra League

In Ultra League, Shadow Lurantis requires heavy XL investment. Its performance dips slightly when compared to the Great League, but it is still strong. However, considering the heavy investment cost and other Grass types that are equally relevant but cheaper to power-up, Shadow Lurantis becomes a "if you can afford" pick rather than a "must have" pick.

🟣 Master League

Shadow Lurantis is underpowered for Master League.
