The following chart shows Sceptile's DPS and TDO for every fast and charge attack combination. This chart is useful for comparing the relative strength of Sceptile's movesets. You can change the weather and the opposing Pokémon to see how it affects the rankings.

Legacy Elite Fast and Charge Attacks can only be obtained during special events, or by using an Elite Fast TM or an Elite Charge TM. Legacy moves are marked with an asterisk (*). The table above provides information on different moves Sceptile has in Pokémon GO, along with their corresponding DPS (Damage per Second) and TDO (Total Damage Output).

      Sceptile in the meta

      Sceptile in the meta

      PvE AnalysisPvE Analysis

      Recommended moves

Keeping Megas and Shadows out of the picture, Sceptile is one of the more aggressive Grass types in Pokémon GO. Armed with the lightning-fast move duo of Bullet Seed and Leaf Blade, Sceptile unleashes a fierce onslaught on its victims. Its Community Day move Frenzy Plant is a bonus for high damage, and ultimately, this Pokémon is a must-have Grass type. 👌

      ⚔️ Raids

Regardless of whether you're lacking Megas or not, Sceptile is a great addition to your team of Grass-type Raid Pokémon. Its quick, timer-friendly damage output is an asset in Raids, but be sure to dodge, as Sceptile is sort of fragile. 👀

      🛡️ Gyms

Grass types are notorious for having several weaknesses. On top of that, Sceptile isn't too bulky either. These factors render Sceptile an underwhelming Gym Defender. 👎

💎 Sceptile’s best moveset for PvE is Bullet Seed and Frenzy Plant.

      PvP AnalysisPvP Analysis

      Recommended moves

Sceptile is functional in PvP thanks to its lightning-fast moveset that excels in baiting shields. Unlike many such moves that don't hold too much power, Leaf Blade is deadly both in speed and damage. ☠️

While Sceptile’s fragility is a concern, it still pressurizes opponents and is instrumental in wearing down the opposition — be it HP or shields. A fun pick that's definitely worth running, although outclassed by other Grass types in overall utility.

Fun fact: With Bullet Seed, Sceptile has the fastest STAB Leaf Blade in Pokémon GO! ‼️

      🔵 Great League

Sceptile is decent in the Great League, with its primary strength being Leaf Blade. This move boasts an exceptional 70 DMG for just 35 energy, destroying the format’s top Water, Ground, and Rock types, as well as Annihilape, Dunsparce, Shadow Steelix, and Morpeko. ✅

      🟡 Ultra League

With the Ultra League featuring bigger and meaner monsters, Sceptile has it tougher. However, the ability to beat numerous Water and Ground types with its Grass moves, and Earthquake taking out Registeel, Steelix, and Ampharos, Sceptile ensures meaningful contributions. 👌

      🟣 Master League

Despite having no limit to its offenses, the power levels of the staple Pokémon in the Master League are too much for Sceptile to handle. It gets cut down by tremendously high ATK opponents, so it's best not to use this starter in the Master League. 👎

💎 Sceptile's best moveset for PvP is Bullet Seed, Leaf Blade, and Earthquake.
