      PvE AnalysisPvE Analysis

There aren’t too many good Bug-types in Pokémon GO, but Scizor is among the stronger ones. 👏 It checks all the boxes for viability: stats, typing, and moveset.

Scizor also has a solid Steel-type moveset. While it’s wildly outclassed by Dusk Mane Necrozma, Metagross, and Dialga, it is still usable when Steel-type damage is required.

This Bug/Steel Pokémon is worth your investment. 🙌

💎 Scizor’s best moveset for PvE is Fury Cutter and X-Scissor or Bullet Punch and Iron Head.

      ⚔️ Raids

Due to a good ATK stat, Scizor can always be included in your team of Bug- or Steel-type Pokémon during a Raid battle. However, we recommend using it later in the battle instead of leading with it. ‼️

      🛡️ Gyms

Scizor is only weak to Fire-type attacks, although it has a double weakness. 👀 Otherwise, its bulk is decent, and it has nine resistances, making it a solid Gym defender. 🙂

      PvE AnalysisPvP Analysis

Scizor is not the greatest GBL contender, but it can hold its own in certain matchups thanks to its quick moveset, nine resistances, and offensive coverage against key PvP types. 😎

If you're bored of the usual GBL picks, give Scizor a shot. It can definitely help you win many battles. 🙌

💎 Scizor’s best moveset for PvP is Fury Cutter, Night Slash, and Trailblaze.

      🔵 Great League

Scizor is better than you expect in the Great League! 👀 With lightning-fast energy gains, it can use Night Slash or Trailblaze to bait shields or deal significant damage. An ATK boost from either move:

      • Night Slash (1.5x ATK, 12.5% chance)
      • Trailblaze (1.25x ATK, 100% chance)

…can turn the tide of battle and win you matchups. ‼️

That said, the lack of a high-powered move prevents quick KOs, which limits its effectiveness. 🙃

      🟡 Ultra League

Scizor isn’t as strong in the Ultra League. Its lack of heavy damage makes it struggle against tough opponents. At best, it can chip away at Grass, Dark, and Psychic Pokémon, but beyond that, it falters. 🙁

      🟣 Master League

Scizor has no chance against the powerhouses of the Master League. Better to sit this one out, Scizor. 🥱

Mega and Primal Raid BonusMega Pokémon boost the attack power of all other Pokémon when battling in Raid Battles by 10%. Attacks that share their type with the Mega Pokémon's type(s) receive a 30% boost. However, these bonuses do not stack if there are multiple Mega-Evolved Pokémon battling simultaneously; only the higher boost will be applied.

Mega and Primal Catch BonusWhile a Pokémon is Mega-Evolved, additional XP and Candy is granted when catching a Pokémon that shares a type with it, or for any raid boss caught. These do not stack with each other. Additionally, High and Max Level Mega-Evolved Pokémon grant an increased chance to obtain Candy XL when catching a Pokémon that shares a type with it.

Note on Primal Kyogre, Primal Groudon, and Mega Rayquaza
      • Primal Kyogre boosts Water-, Electric- and Bug-type attacks and Pokémon.
      • Primal Groudon boosts Fire-, Grass- and Ground-type attacks and Pokémon.
      • Mega Rayquaza boosts Flying-, Dragon- and Psychic-type attacks and Pokémon.

                Catch probability with multiple throws

In order to help Trainers understand their overall odds when catching Scizor, we enable the functionality to showing the total chance to catch it depending on the number of available throws. We calculate this chance as if you repeated the same throw N-number of times.

To activate this functionality, change the number of Number of throws to a value greater than 1. The Number of throws option is available in the configuration options above the chart

                Catch rate formula

Pokémon GO catch rate formula can be expressed as follows:

                • CATCH_MULTIPLIERS = ball * curve * berry * throwType * (type1Medal + type2Medal / 2)
                • CATCH_RATE = 1 - Math.pow(1 - baseCatchRate / (2 * cpm), CATCH_MULTIPLIERS)

There are different multipliers that come into play when calculating catch rate.

Curved throws are more effective than regular throws, stronger types of Poké Ball have a higher catch rate, and using a Razz Berry or a Golden Razz Berry also improves your chances.
