Steelix is all about bulk. Alongside a jaw-dropping 272 DEF stat, it also has plenty of resistances (Poison, Electric, Rock, Bug, Dragon, Fairy, Flying, Normal, Psychic, and Steel), which may not be too valuable for Raids but definitely helps it in Gyms defense.

      ⚔️ Raids

Steelix’s DPS is too low to give it a spot in Raid battle parties.

      🛡️ Gyms

Steelix stands tall on Gyms, boasting an impressive defensive profile that lets it hold Gyms better than most Pokémon in the game. Definitely worth putting one for Gym defense! 👍

💎 The best PvE moves for Steelix are Iron Tail and Heavy Slam.

      🔵 Great League

Steelix is one of the deadliest Pokémon in the Great League, taking advantage of its plethora of resistances, exceptional bulk, and phenomenal moveset to establish itself as a premier threat in this format. It walls almost anything and hits back with moves that mess with its opponent's DEF. This Pokémon is the reason behind the Breaking Swipe nerfs, and even without it, Steelix continues to dominate, no matter what the matchup. 👏

      🟡 Ultra League

Steelix continues its dominant streak in the Ultra League, even cementing itself as the top counter to the mighty Giratina Altered. While it is certainly mortal, it doesn't go down without a fight even in its worst matchups, either baiting shields or reducing their DEF. One of the undisputed best Pokémon for the lower PvP Leagues! 🙌

      🟣 Master League

The dominant run of Steelix finally comes to standstill in the Master League wherein its low offenses make it underwhelming in the format of Legendaries and Pseudo Legendaries.

💎 The best PvP moves for Steelix are Thunder Fang, Psychic Fangs and Crunch.
