PvE Analysis
Recommended moves
- Grass Attacker:
Vine Whip
Leaf Blade
Gogoat is one of those many Grass types with mediocre PvE stats, meant only for PvP usage. It has a very high HP stat but that is tarnished with a low DEF, making Gym defense look bleak for Gogoat.

🔵 Great League
Gogoat is one of the best Grass types to use in the Great League, complemented by an exceptional Stamina and a flurry of hard-hitting attacks that stuns the format's leading Water types (except Empoleon and Ludicolo), Ground types, and other prominent opponents like Shadow Annihilape, Wigglytuff, Florges, Shadow Steelix, Clodsire, and regular Sableye.
The Precious Paths update brought Rock Slide, an attack that was removed from Gogoat’s learnset just before its debut, and it has propelled this Pokémon to new heights. With it, Gogoat takes down unlikely targets such as Talonflame and Sealeo (both regular and Shadow versions).
🟡 Ultra League
Gogoat is solid in the Ultra League though not as dominant as its Great League performance due to the presence of more Pokémon that threaten it. Water and Ground types remain usual victims, but it's no longer able to power their Talonflame. Moreover, it doesn't make Dragons, Ghosts, and Ice types flinch. Still a good Pokémon for the format but it's best kept for the Great League instead.
🟣 Master League
Gogoat doesn't have the power to run through the various powerhouses of the Master League, let alone threaten them.
