PvE Analysis
Recommended moves
- Fairy Attacker:
Charm
Dazzling Gleam
Sylveon is a decent Fairy-type attacker, although outclassed by many common Fairies that aren't Legendaries, Mega Evolutions, or Shadows. However, given that Fairy Pokémon heavily resist Dragon types, you can include Sylveon in your Raid party if the Dragon Boss isn't double weak to Ice-type damage. It's definitely a good Pokémon to lead with once you rejoin the Raid lobby.
⚔️ Raids
Fairy Pokémon like Togekiss, Granbull, Galarian Rapidash, and Primarina all surpass Sylveon in damage output. That said, Sylveon is bulkier than many Fairies, making it an overall neat pick.
🛡️ Gyms
Sylveon is bulky and has good Fairy-type moves, bringing typical Fighting and Dragon types to a standstill. A good Gym defender overall! 👍

🔵 Great League
A Fairy Pokémon with good stats and Attacks always tends to enjoy viability in PvP, and Sylveon is no different, slaying Dragon, Fighting, and Dark types like another day at the office. The consistent Fairy-type STAB damage + Psyshock helps Sylveon claim other victims such as Feraligatr, Azumarill, Dusclops, Togekiss, and Florges. It's helpless against Steel types so as long as you have accounted for those, you're set for a good battle.
🟡 Ultra League
The widespread presence of Dragon, Fighting, and Dark types in the Ultra League make Sylveon a solid pick, as it even takes down Giratina Altered with ease. It is also strong against Ghosts like Trevenant and Shadow Dusknoir, but loses to Drifblim, Gourgeist, and Jellicent. And to reiterate, you need to add a teammate capable of dealing with Steel Pokémon as Sylveon is just fodder for them.
🟣 Master League
Sylveon ends up being underwhelming in the Master League, fulfilling no niche that other common Fairies do. Togekiss is spammy, Primarina's Water subtyping removes the Steel weaknesses and carries the powerful Hydro Cannon, and Legendaries like Xerneas and the Zacian duo are too powerful. As such, Sylveon can't keep up with the power creep in the Master League, leaving room for the aforementioned Fairies.
