- Fire Attacker:
Fire Spin
Weather Ball
⚔️ Raids – While Ninetales is a fully evolved Fire-type Pokémon, it shouldn’t be your first choice as a Fire-type raid attacker. Ninetales is more of a balanced Pokémon, with its defense and stamina being higher than its attack stats. As such, Ninetales is a bit underwhelming as a raid attacker, with a mere 12.88 points in DPS.
Nevertheless, if you’re lacking in better alternatives for Fire-type damage, you could rely on Ninetales. As a Fire-type raid attacker running Fire Spin and Weather Ball, Ninetales is strong against Bug, Steel, Grass, and Ice-types.

🔵 Great League – Ninetales is a solid Pokémon for the Great League. It has balanced stats. Not only that, Ninetales also has access to Fire Spin as a fast attack, which is a decent, balanced option. As for charged attacks, you have quite a few options: Weather Ball for Fire-type spam, but for heavy damage, you have Overheat, which is the common choice, or the legacy moves of Flamethrower or Fire Blast if you want to try them out. If you want more coverage, you can even run Scorching Sands instead.
Unfortunately, that’s also where the problems start. Ninetales is a pure Fire-type with Scorching Sands being its only coverage. As such, you don’t see it as much in the main meta as some of the other Fire-types. However, it is still very solid and can work really well as a spice/limited meta choice.
🟡 Ultra League – Ninetales is even better for the Ultra League. For starters, it has much better stats for this league. With a base stat total of 4101, Ninetales’ stats are higher than some of the best Pokémon in the Ultra League. Not only that, Ninetales has more targets in this league as well.
Ninetales, as a Fire-type, can deal super-effective damage against dominant Steel-types such as Registeel and Steelix, and it also resists Fairy-type attacks. If you opt for Scorching Sands as one of your charged attacks, you can deal with many Poison-types as well.
🟣 Master League – With a max CP of 2577, Ninetales is not a good fit for the legendary-dominated Master League.
