Shadow Walrein PvE Analysis

Recommended moves

Shadow Walrein has a low ATK stat and even though it can function as a viable Ice-type attacker when maxed out, the massive expense of doing so is just not worth it, going by how outclassed it is even by non-Shadow Pokémon (cheaper to power up). As a Water type, it's not even considered remotely viable by any means.

Skip this one for both Raids and Gyms, it hardly brings any value to either meta.

Shadow Walrein PvP Analysis

Recommended moves

🔵 Great League

With impressive bulk and good coverage options, Shadow Walrein is a dire threat in the Great League, clocking wins such as Azumarill, Empoleon, Feraligatr, Shadow Dusclops, Altaria, Galarian Moltres, Stunfisk, and Corviknight. It packs both power and spamminess, making it a great fit for any battle position, be it as a lead or as a closer. A fine addition to the Great League meta! 👏

🟡 Ultra League

Shadow Walrein is more dominant than ever in the Ultra League, playing around with the format's premier Dragon types like Giratina Altered, Regidrago, Kommo-o, Guzzlord, and Zygarde Complete. It also beats Fairy types like Togekiss, Florges, and Galarian Weezing, making Shadow Walrein a powerful core breaker. Other impressive wins like Empoleon and Poison types further improve its résumé, solidifying its reputation as a core breaker. This is an amazing Pokémon for the lower PvP Leagues! 💪

🟣 Master League

Shadow Walrein finally derails in the Open Master League, where its lack of a high offensive stat leaves it powerless against the platform's insane roster. It can function better in Master League Premier but ultimately, it is outclassed in this role by many Ice types. Overall, go with White Kyurem or Mamoswine, or even Avalugg and Lapras if you want some Ice-type spice in the Open Master League. 🧊
