Flame Charge
Coalossal packs a great offensive typing of Rock/Fire, but its ATK is way too low, giving it no use whatsoever in the PvE meta.
⚔️ Raids
Forget the top powerhouses in each type, Coalossal doesn't even compete with most regular Rock and Fire types, even when they have a weak moveset. An unimpressive ATK stat of only 146 makes it very bad for shelling out damage in Raid battles.
🛡️ Gyms
Despite having good bulk, Coalossal’s Rock/Fire typing hands it double weaknesses to Ground and Water, making it an easy target for Gym attackers. Not to mention, it is also weak to the common Fighting-type attackers. Overall, Coalossal is just a sitting duck begging to be taken out of the Gym.

🔵 Great League
Coalossal is quite bulky in the Great League, helping it stand tall against a decent portion of the meta. Aside from handling Flying, Bug (not Golisopod), and Steel types, it also takes out popular threats like Ludicolo, regular and Shadow Sableye, Altaria, and Dusclops.
Needless to say, it goes down easily to Water and Ground type offenses. As such, it is important to not have Coalossal in a position where it can't switch out and the opponent can bring in one of its glaring weaknesses (or two, in case of the popular Mud Bois).
Overall, there's nothing special about Coalossal as such… something it was capable of with Incinerate.
🟡 Ultra League
Coalossal performs more or less the same in the Ultra League, this time requiring Candy XL investment. It beats the rising trend of Ice types (it still loses to Shadow Walrein), while still making Bug, Steel, and Flying types suffer. It’s also able to take down several Cresselia and Ghost Pokémon, including Shadow Dusknoir, Drifblim, Trevenant, Skeledirge, and Gourgeist (Super).
The loss of Incinerate from Coalossal's movepool hurt it pretty badly as it's no longer able to beat Giratina Altered, Guzzlord, and Cradily, three key wins in the Ultra League.
Is it worth the Candy XL investment? Not at all, with the current moveset.
🟣 Master League
Coalossal shows potential in the lower PvP Leagues but is brought to a rude standstill in the Master League. Here, it is unable to keep up with the massive surge of power, and with Water and Ground being popular Pokémon to have in Master League teams, it's just lights out for Coalossal. 👎
