Black and White Kyurem are two sides of the same coin, a coin that represents unreal power levels in Pokémon GO. With a jaw-dropping 310 ATK and great bulk, White Kyurem commands the Ice-type throne thanks to its incredible signature move Ice Burn. Also, this Pokémon is capable of delivering high neutral damage, so feel free to use it in such scenarios. 🥶

🌀 How to Get White Kyurem

You can fuse Kyurem and Reshiram using 1,000 Blaze Fusion Energy, 30 Kyurem Candy, and 30 Reshiram Candy to obtain White Kyurem.

Your Kyurem must know its signature attack Glaciate for White Kyurem to learn Ice Burn.

      🌀 Adventure Effect: Ice Burn

After fusing Reshiram with a Kyurem that knows the Charged Attack Glaciate, Glaciate will turn into the Charged Attack Ice Burn. Ice Burn will change back to Glaciate when Reshiram is separated from Kyurem.

Trainers can use 5,000 Stardust and 5 Kyurem Candy to activate Ice Burn’s Adventure Effect, which activates a chilling energy for 10 minutes. During this time, the target ring in Pokémon encounters will move more slowly, making it easier to land Excellent Throws. This also makes Pokémon much easier to catch, including with connected accessory devices.

You can extend the Ice Burn Adventure Effect timer in increments of 10 minutes by using more Stardust and Kyurem Candy. The timer can be extended up to two hours each time you tap Use, and you can tap Use again to add additional time—up to 24 hours total!

💎 White Kyurem's best moveset for PvE is Ice Fang and Ice Burn.

      ⚔️ Raids

White Kyurem is THE best Ice-type attacker, but keep in mind that Black Kyurem offers better overall DPS.

      • For Raid Bosses weak only to Ice and not Dragon, White Kyurem is your best counter.
      • Black Kyurem is preferred if the Raid Boss is weak to both Dragon and Ice.
      • For Raid Bosses double weak to Ice-type attacks, White Kyurem is recommended.
      • White Kyurem’s Dragon-type moveset is extremely underwhelming, so don’t use those at all.

      🔵 Great League - N/A

      🟡 Ultra League

White Kyurem’s stats are highly inclined towards Attack, making it an awkward fit for the CP-restricted Ultra League format. This Pokémon is designed for the Master League only.

      🟣 Master League

White Kyurem is the premier Ice-type attacker in the Master League, being a major asset against the many Dragon, Flying, and Ground titans in this format.

Black Kyurem is overall stronger, but White Kyurem possesses a unique advantage that would make many Dragon-types jealous: Its ability to beat Steel-types with Fusion Flare. 🔥

Few Pokémon manage to take down White Kyurem, and they are Dialga and Palkia (both regular and Origin), Zacian (Hero), Xerneas, Primarina, and Ho-Oh. An Electric-type Pokémon is a good partner to White Kyurem. ⚡❄️

💎 White Kyurem’s best moveset for PvP is Ice Fang, Ice Burn, and Fusion Flare.

      • Ice Fang is a powerful Fast Move that blends flawlessly with Ice Burn for leading Ice-type damage.
      • Fusion Flare is cheap and burns through the ever-rampant Steel-type Pokémon that White Kyurem is weak to.
      • Ice Burn is a stronger Outrage, with +10 DMG (total 120 DMG) at the same energy cost.

Attacks that share their type with the Mega Pokémon's type(s) receive a 30% boost. However, these bonuses do not stack if there are multiple Mega-Evolved Pokémon battling simultaneously; only the higher boost will be applied.

Mega and Primal Catch BonusWhile a Pokémon is Mega-Evolved, additional XP and Candy is granted when catching a Pokémon that shares a type with it, or for any raid boss caught. These do not stack with each other. Additionally, High and Max Level Mega-Evolved Pokémon grant an increased chance to obtain Candy XL when catching a Pokémon that shares a type with it.

                Catch probability with multiple throws

In order to help Trainers understand their overall odds when catching White Kyurem, we enable the functionality to showing the total chance to catch it depending on the number of available throws. We calculate this chance as if you repeated the same throw N-number of times.

To activate this functionality, change the number of Number of throws to a value greater than 1. The Number of throws option is available in the configuration options above the chart

                Catch rate formula

Pokémon GO catch rate formula can be expressed as follows:

                • CATCH_MULTIPLIERS = ball * curve * berry * throwType * (type1Medal + type2Medal / 2)
                • CATCH_RATE = 1 - Math.pow(1 - baseCatchRate / (2 * cpm), CATCH_MULTIPLIERS)

There are different multipliers that come into play when calculating catch rate.

Curved throws are more effective than regular throws, stronger types of Poké Ball have a higher catch rate, and using a Razz Berry or a Golden Razz Berry also improves your chances.
