      Galarian Articuno in the meta

      Galarian Articuno in the meta

      PvE AnalysisPvE Analysis

Galarian Articuno has very good stats both offensively and defensively, making it a great addition to the PvE scene. Additionally, it also comes with a good moveset (Psycho Cut and Brave Bird / Future Sight), making it overall the best Galarian Bird in PvE 🏆. While it's certainly outclassed by other Psychic types, this mysterious Bird is still a worthy investment in the meta 💰.

⚔️ RaidsGalarian Articuno is a premier Psychic-type attacker, particularly against Fighting-type bosses that it resists thanks to its Psychic/Flying typing 😎.

🛡️ Gyms – Since it is a Legendary Pokémon, it cannot be put in Pokémon GO Gyms.

      PvE AnalysisPvP Analysis

Galarian Articuno doesn't have a ‘wow’ moveset that would make it incredible in PvP, but it can still put in some work. You can opt for either Confusion for high damage output or Psycho Cut for high energy gains, though the latter is recommended as it helps it reach Brave Bird quickly 🪽.

🔵 Great League – It has no niche other than being extremely effective against Fighting-type Pokémon.

🟡 Ultra League – The situation is better in the Ultra League, where Galarian Articuno can act as a surprising switch against Fighting and Grass types. But once again, its moveset makes it heavily reliant on ideal situations and/or lack of shields, as otherwise, it goes down hard and fast 😭.

🟣 Master League – Among all PvP Leagues, Galarian Articuno does best in the Master League. Even so, Psychic/Flying isn't too useful in this format due to several exploitable weaknesses and stronger powerhouses to choose for your team 🫠.

While other Psychic/Flying Pokémon, like Lugia, got nerfed hard in Season 20 of GBL, it's still a far better option due to its jaw-dropping stat product 😐.

Mega and Primal Catch BonusWhile a Pokémon is Mega-Evolved, additional XP and Candy is granted when catching a Pokémon that shares a type with it, or for any raid boss caught. Catch probability with multiple throws

In order to help Trainers understand their overall odds when catching Galarian Articuno, we enable the functionality to showing the total chance to catch it depending on the number of available throws. We calculate this chance as if you repeated the same throw N-number of times.

To activate this functionality, change the number of Number of throws to a value greater than 1. The Number of throws option is available in the configuration options above the chart

                Catch rate formula

Pokémon GO catch rate formula can be expressed as follows:

                • CATCH_MULTIPLIERS = ball * curve * berry * throwType * (type1Medal + type2Medal / 2)
                • CATCH_RATE = 1 - Math.pow(1 - baseCatchRate / (2 * cpm), CATCH_MULTIPLIERS)

There are different multipliers that come into play when calculating catch rate.

Curved throws are more effective than regular throws, stronger types of Poké Ball have a higher catch rate, and using a Razz Berry or a Golden Razz Berry also improves your chances.
