The entire Orbeetle line is sadly riddled with poor offensive stats, with Orbeetle having only 156 ATK. As such, it doesn't make any impact in ⚔️ Raids in the Bug-type meta and, obviously, the heavily-contested Psychic type as well. It does have a good DEF stat of 240 and although the HP is quite low, the Bug/Psychic typing helps Orbeetle heavily resist Fighting-type attacks, making it a decent 🛡️ Gym defender.

      Recommended moves

      🔵 Great League

Thanks to its high DEF and low ATK, Orbeetle’s stats are quite appropriate for the lower PvP Leagues. Add the fact that it has a quick Fast Attack to generate energy, a cheap Charged Attack to bait shields, a strong Charged Attack to deal good damage figures, and most importantly, handy resistances (including a double resistance to Fighting)... you have yourself a decent PvP Pokémon.

While Orbeetle won't establish itself as a top-notch Pokémon by any means, with other Bug and Psychic types doing much better, it does bag some impressive wins such as Azumarill, Clodsire, Cradily, Cresselia, Togekiss, Charjabug, and Fighting types. The problem is that Orbeetle has six weaknesses, and accounting for them can be a challenge even for the most seasoned battlers.

      🟡 Ultra League

Orbeetle’s prospects improve in the Ultra League, and its resistances and tactful moveset gives it some play in this format. Cobalion, Kommo-o, Shadow Feraligatr, Cresselia, Tentacruel, and Kyurem are all nice wins but still not enough to justify running it often in the GO Battle League.

Overall, Orbeetle brings some legitimate spice to PvP battles, and serves as a superb switch-in to Fighting Pokémon. But once again, you won't struggle to find stronger Bug and Psychic types for the Ultra League, which can bring you GBL glory without the efforts associated with Orbeetle.

      🟣 Master League

Orbeetle gets squashed effortlessly in the Master League.
