Urshifu (Rapid Strike Style) in the meta

Urshifu (Rapid Strike Style) in the meta

      PvE AnalysisPvE Analysis

The Fighting/Water-type Urshifu (Rapid Strike Style) is a decent Pokémon with lower viability than its Single Strike counterpart. So, if you're not sure which one you should evolve Kubfu into, Single Strike Style it is!

Note that both Urshifu forms have the same stats but different typing and moveset.

It is outclassed in both its typings but is better off as a Fighting-type attacker. As a Water type, it just doesn't pack enough power due to an underwhelming moveset. 🙁

      🧬 Evolution

You can evolve Kubfu into Urshifu (Rapid Strike Style) with 200 Kubfu Candy after you defeat 30 Water-type Pokémon in raids or Max Battles with Kubfu as your buddy. You do not have to defeat the Pokémon with Kubfu.

      ⚔️ Raids

Even when Megas and Shadows are out of contention, Urshifu Rapid Strike is largely outclassed as a Water type in Raids. You have many other Pokémon to use. 🌊

When not considering Megas and Shadows, either Urshifu form is a great Fighting-type attacker in Raids.

      🛡️ Gyms

Legendaries can't be put in Gyms.

      🔮 Gigantamax/Dynamax

Dynamax Urshifu Rapid Strike is not a strong DMax Pokémon. There is no room for viability as a Water type attacker since superior options like Gigantamax Blastoise, Inteleon, and Kingler, as well as Dynamax Kingler, Inteleon, and Blastoise do the job better.

As a Fighting-type attacker, Gigantamax Machamp is what you need and Urshifu Rapid Strike is definitely outclassed.

👉 Gigantamax Urshifu Rapid Strike would be a vast improvement with its signature GMax Rapid Flow in tow. But, Waterfall not being a 0.5s Fast Move definitely pulls it back and though it'll be far better than its DMax variant, it'll be still outclassed.

💎 The best moves for Urshifu Rapid Strike in PvE are Counter and Dynamic Punch

      PvE AnalysisPvP Analysis

      🔵 Great League

Urshifu Rapid Strike is an offensively oriented Pokémon so it struggles to perform in the Great League. The loss in DEF hurts it and this Legendary is just unable to break through. Don't waste your time running Urshifu in the Great League. 😒

      🟡 Ultra League

While the Ultra League gives Urshifu more breathing room, it still isn't at its best. Also, Poliwrath, a fellow Water/Fighting type, is better in every parameter and more suited for this format.

      🟣 Master League

There's no mincing of words here… Urshifu Rapid Strike is a fine Pokémon in the Master League but the Single Strike Style is far stronger and a meta-shaking Pokémon. 😕

The nerf to Counter hinders the chances of Urshifu Rapid Strike Style to do better and Aqua Jet isn't powerful enough to establish this Legendary as a bigger threat.

Wins against Dusk Mane Necrozma, Rhyperior, and Palkia Origin are nice but nowhere close to what Urshifu Single Strike is capable of, a Pokémon that annihilates top Master League cores.

To be fair, if you are looking to use an Urshifu in the Master League, there's absolutely no comparison. Just go with the Single Strike Style and dominate the GO Battle League. 🏆

💎 The best moves for Urshifu Rapid Strike in PvP are Counter, Dynamic Punch and Aqua Jet.
