      PvE AnalysisPvE Analysis

Meloetta (Aria) is a Normal/Psychic-type Mythical Pokémon from Gen 5 with pretty good stats across the board! 🎵

While the Normal type isn't viable in PvE, Meloetta makes for a strong Psychic-type attacker. However, getting the XL Candy to max it out is a challenge and ultimately not entirely worth it, since Meloetta is outclassed by Pokémon that are way easier to power up.

💎 Meloetta’s best moveset for PvE is Confusion and Psyshock.

      ⚔️ Raids

Meloetta (Aria) is outclassed by numerous Psychic-type Pokémon with higher ATK and better moves, even when excluding Megas and Shadows. 😅

Another issue is that when battling Fighting-type Raid Bosses, Meloetta takes neutral damage, unlike pure Psychic Pokémon, who resist Fighting-type damage.

Meloetta is definitely a good Pokémon, but the factors stated above, along with the difficult XL Candy grind, lower the overall viability of this Pokémon. 🫤

      🛡️ Gyms

Except for Meltan and Melmetal, other Mythicals cannot be placed in Gyms.

      🔵 Great League - N/A

      🟡 Ultra League

Thanks to its Normal/Psychic typing, Meloetta (Aria) holds the rare distinction of being a Psychic-type attacker that resists Ghost-type moves.

Offensively, the hard-hitting Fast Move Confusion, along with Psyshock, can put a lot of pressure on opponents, but otherwise, its other Charged Moves are underwhelming. 😶

A good Psychic-type Pokémon on both offense and defense, but unremarkable outside this niche. 🙂 Overall, it's just a decent pick.

      🟣 Master League

Meloetta (Aria) is a legitimate threat in the Master League thanks to its high stats and diverse moveset.

Quick Attack offers STAB and high energy generation, allowing Meloetta to frequently use its powerful Charged Moves, such as Dazzling Gleam (hello, Dragons!) and Psyshock, with ease. 😁

These qualities enable Meloetta (Aria) to defeat a long list of Master League Pokémon, including Giratina (both Altered and Origin), Groudon, Dragonite, Primarina, Kyogre, Togekiss, Xerneas, Mewtwo, Mamoswine, Palkia, Landorus Therian, Enamorus Incarnate, and even Black Kyurem! 😳

The wins are undoubtedly impressive, and they earn Meloetta (Aria) a firm spot in your Master League teamas long as you're able to max it out by collecting all that XL Candy! 😶‍🌫️

Mega and Primal Raid BonusMega Pokémon boost the attack power of all other Pokémon when battling in Raid Battles by 10%. Attacks that share their type with the Mega Pokémon's type(s) receive a 30% boost. However, these bonuses do not stack if there are multiple Mega-Evolved Pokémon battling simultaneously; only the higher boost will be applied.

Mega and Primal Catch BonusWhile a Pokémon is Mega-Evolved, additional XP and Candy is granted when catching a Pokémon that shares a type with it, or for any raid boss caught. These do not stack with each other. Additionally, High and Max Level Mega-Evolved Pokémon grant an increased chance to obtain Candy XL when catching a Pokémon that shares a type with it.

Note on Primal Kyogre, Primal Groudon, and Mega Rayquaza
      • Primal Kyogre boosts Water-, Electric- and Bug-type attacks and Pokémon.
      • Primal Groudon boosts Fire-, Grass- and Ground-type attacks and Pokémon.
      • Mega Rayquaza boosts Flying-, Dragon- and Psychic-type attacks and Pokémon.

                Catch probability with multiple throws

In order to help Trainers understand their overall odds when catching Aria Forme Meloetta, we enable the functionality to showing the total chance to catch it depending on the number of available throws. We calculate this chance as if you repeated the same throw N-number of times.

To activate this functionality, change the number of Number of throws to a value greater than 1. The Number of throws option is available in the configuration options above the chart

                Catch rate formula

Pokémon GO catch rate formula can be expressed as follows:

                • CATCH_MULTIPLIERS = ball * curve * berry * throwType * (type1Medal + type2Medal / 2)
                • CATCH_RATE = 1 - Math.pow(1 - baseCatchRate / (2 * cpm), CATCH_MULTIPLIERS)

There are different multipliers that come into play when calculating catch rate.

Curved throws are more effective than regular throws, stronger types of Poké Ball have a higher catch rate, and using a Razz Berry or a Golden Razz Berry also improves your chances.
