PvE Analysis
Recommended moves
- Dark Attacker:
Snarl
Brutal Swing *
Dark types are popular PvE picks as they not only deal super-effective damage to Psychic (held by many Legendaries) but they also resist Psychic-type damage. Shadow Absol is a dominant force in this role, dealing one of the highest damage output among all Dark types in Pokémon GO! 😲
⚔️ Raids
In Damage Per Second (DPS) figures, Shadow Absol is just behind Mega Absol among all Dark types! However, it is extremely frail, making dodging mandatory in Raids.
🛡️ Gyms
Fighting-type Pokémon are some of the most common Gym attackers and Shadow Absol melts even to their Fast Moves. Needless to say, any Fighting-type Charged Move OHKOs it. 😶
💎 The best PvE moves for Shadow Absol are Snarl and Brutal Swing.

🔵 Great League
Shadow Absol has a difficult time in the Great League due its ATK oriented stats squeezing its bulk to even lower values. It can beat Ghost types but that's about it. Use Sableye or Mandibuzz instead.
🟡 Ultra League
The power level in the Ultra League is too overwhelming for Shadow Absol going by how flimsy it is. To its credit, it can beat Giratina Altered and Guzzlord, as well as a couple of Ghost Pokémon like Skeledirge and Dusknoir. This is where it ends for Shadow Absol as it can not muster any more wins without enough shields.
As a lead, however, it is quite good. Taking advantage of its strong moves and high ATK, Shadow Absol slays Pokemon like Cresselia, Registeel, Jellicent, Shadow and regular Feraligatr, Venusaur, Drifblim, Bellibolt, Ampharos, Cradily, and Corviknight in (2-2) shields. 👏
As long as you get a favorable matchup for Shadow Absol in the (2-2), you stand to benefit a lot from this Pokémon.
🟣 Master League
Shadow Absol’s low bulk cannot help it sustain in the Master League.
💎 The best PvP moves for Shadow Absol are Snarl, Brutal Swing and Megahorn.
