Shadow Chikorita is the shadow form of the grass-type starter from Johto. As Chikorita is the first of a three-stage evolutionary line, it doesn’t do all that much damage and is outclassed by just about every fully evolved grass-type Pokémon.

🧸 Little Cup

With a measly max 1057 CP, Chikorita might not be the best in any of the three main battle leagues, but it is excellent in the 500 CP Little Cup format. While in the open Little Cup format, it is somewhat hindered by the presence of Pokémon like Bronzor and Deino, it can still perform well against other meta contenders, such as Seel. But Chikorita really shines in Limited Little Cup formats where those super meta Pokémon aren’t available, such as the Little Element Cup. Chikorita’s main claim to fame is its Vine Whip, Body Slam combo. Vine Whip generates energy quickly and does decent damage in the Little Cup as well, and Body Slam is just spammy enough to be a neutral damage threat against most opposing Pokémon. Though it should be noted that regular Chikorita outperforms its shadow form thanks to its added bulk under most scenarios. However, Shadow Chikorita does perform better against certain water/ground types such as Swampert and Barboach.
