PvE Analysis
Recommended moves
- Ice Attacker:
Powder Snow
Ice Beam - Bug Attacker:
Bug Bite
Bug Buzz
Frosmoth is a popular Ice/Bug type that is a glass cannon in Pokémon GO, meaning it has a reasonably high ATK but underwhelming bulk.
It has a good moveset in both typings, making it decent. However, both typings have stronger options, even when excluding Megas and Shadows.
🧬 Evolution - Snom evolves into Frosmoth after fulfilling the following conditions:
Collect 400 Candy Earn 10 Hearts with Snom as your Buddy Evolve during nighttime in Pokémon GO
⚔️ Raids
As an Ice type, Black and White Kyurem, Mamoswine, Baxcalibur, and Weavile all surpass Frosmoth significantly in DPS and TDO. ❄️
As a Bug type, its performance is slightly better but only because there aren't too many good Bug Pokémon in the meta. You're still better off using Volcarona, Scizor, and Pinsir. 🪲
🛡️ Gyms
The Ice and Bug type combo gives Frosmoth two double weaknesses (Fire and Rock) as well as weaknesses to Flying and Steel. Additionally, Frosmoth is rather fragile. So, it's not a good Gym defender by any means. ❌
💎 The best PvE moves for Frosmoth are: Powder Snow and Ice Beam (Ice) Bug Bite and Bug Buzz (Bug)

- Great League:

Bug Buzz - Ultra League:
Powder Snow
Ice Beam
Bug Buzz
🔵 Great League
Frosmoth has a plethora of problems in the Great League. To begin with, its stats are turned toward high ATK and low bulk, so the Great League CP restrictions make it even more flimsy.
Then, it has two double weaknesses (Fire and Rock) and is also weak to Steel and Flying. These are all common offensive types in this format, making battles very difficult for Frosmoth.
Avoid using Frosmoth in the Great League.
🟡 Ultra League
Due to the widespread presence of Dark, Psychic, Dragon, Grass, and Flying types in the Ultra League, Frosmoth enjoys some degree of usage in this platform.
Aside from damaging these threats, the debuff effects on them via Icy Wind (100% chance to drop ATK) and Bug Buzz (30% chance to drop DEF) often help swing the tide of the match in your favor.
But in the long run, its low bulk and glaring weakness make it succumb more often than you'd like. As such, Frosmoth is decent but unreliable in the Ultra League.
🟣 Master League
Frosmoth is effortlessly overpowered in the Master League.
💎 The best PvP moves for Frosmoth are Powder Snow, Icy Wind and Bug Buzz.
