PvE Analysis
Recommended moves
- Fighting Attacker:
Rock Smash
Superpower
Grapploct winds up with poor bulk and a mediocre ATK that just isn't enough to compete even with regular Fighting Pokémon like Machamp and Conkeldurr, let alone the Mega Evolutions and Shadows in this meta. Don't use Grapploct in Raids or Gyms, it's just a Pokédex addition.
Note: While Grapploct looks like a Water-type Pokémon and also has Water-type moves, it isn't one!

🔵 Great League
Grapploct’s ATK oriented stats make it very fragile in the Great League’s CP cap. Being a standout Fighting type in PvP is possible only if the said Pokémon has a good moveset, a handy subtyping, and/or functional stats. Grapploct has none of those, making it an underwhelming addition to your team. Avoid using it.
🟡 Ultra League
Grapploct's woes continue in the Ultra League where having no notable trait to make it click in PvP spells doom for its viability. Besides, Fighting types like Annihilape, Primeape, Cobalion, and Virizion do so well in this format, that you don't even think of running Grapploct.
🟣 Master League
Grapploct’s max CP barely crosses 3000 CP and its complete profile, be it stats or moveset, is so bad that it doesn't muster even a single win in the Master League. Be it from a PvE or PvP perspective, Grapploct is merely a Pokédex addition that's meant to just stay in your collection, not to be used in battles of any form.
