Bite
Brutal Swing
Shadow Tyranitar is one of the most prized Shadows in Pokémon GO, boasting exceptional DPS and high bulk, even with the nerf to its DEF.
Bite and Brutal Swing make it astonishingly powerful, surpassed only by Mega Tyranitar in overall performance. Even though some Shadows deal a little more DPS, Shadow Tyranitar makes up for it with surprisingly high bulk for a Shadow Pokémon.
As a Rock type, it is not as dominant but still fantastic. In this case, you're better off using Mega Tyranitar since it brings more value to the table in the Rock department. Moreover, you will need an Elite Fast TM to unlock Smack Down. If you aren't swimming in these TMs, better use Shadow Tyranitar as a Dark Pokémon. 🖤
⚔️ Raids
Top Dark-type DPS Pokémon Mega and Shadow Absol are extremely frail, leaving Shadow Hydreigon and Shadow Darkrai as the only competitors for Shadow Tyranitar. In any case, this Rock/Dark-type Pseudo Legendary possesses superior bulk, making it a better choice in Raids, especially those that go down the wire.
In the Rock-type meta, Shadow Rhyperior completely outclasses Shadow Tyranitar in every way (both DPS and TDO). Not to mention, Shadow Tyrantrum and Shadow Gigalith dish out higher damage figures. However, that does not rule out the fact that Shadow Tyranitar is an amazing Rock-type attacker. 🪨
Keep in mind that Shadow Tyranitar unfortunately can't do double duty as Smack Down requires an Elite Fast TM.
🛡️ Gyms
Shadow Tyranitar is tainted by a double weakness to Fighting, the most common Gym attacker, making it a liability despite its strengths. Not to mention, it has six more weaknesses.
💎 The best PvE moves for Shadow Tyranitar are: Bite and Brutal Swing (Dark) Smack Down and Stone Edge (Rock)

Stone Edge - Master League:
Dragon Breath
Brutal Swing
Stone Edge
The attack-oriented stats of Shadow Tyranitar make it underwhelming for the lower PvP Leagues. Besides, having so many weaknesses, including a double-weakness to one of the most common types in the Great and Ultra League (Fighting) spells disaster for this Pseudo Legendary.
It does its best in the Master League where it can put immense pressure on opponents with Smack Down’s high damage numbers (deadlier with the Shadow boost). Again, its glaring weaknesses are its Achilles Heel, allowing Shadow Tyranitar to only beat some obvious targets with its Rock and Dark STAB moves. Even then, it suffers from more losses than wins, rendering it a poor pick for PvP.
💎 The best PvP moves for Shadow Tyranitar are Smack Down, Brutal Swing and Stone Edge.
