PvE Analysis
Recommended moves
- Water Attacker:
Water Gun *
Hydro Cannon *
Shadow Feraligatr is a menace unlike the regular version. Boosted by a respectable Shadow Attack bonus and the formidable Hydro Cannon, this fearsome croc is a solid pick for PvE faceoffs. 😈
⚔️ Raids
Though it’s outclassed by other Shadow Water-type starters like Samurott, Swampert, and Empoleon, Shadow Feraligatr is still a reasonably strong Water-type force you can use without hesitation. 💪
🛡️ Gyms
Water-types are usually reliable defenders, thanks to having only two weaknesses, and those with Ice-type attacks can help counter Grass attackers. But Shadow Feraligatr suffers from reduced bulk due to the Shadow effect, making it less ideal as a gym defender.
💥 The best moves for Shadow Feraligatr in PvE are Water Gun and Hydro Cannon.
PvP Analysis

- Great League:

Ice Beam - Ultra League:
Shadow Claw
Hydro Cannon
Ice Beam - Master League:
Shadow Claw
Hydro Cannon
Ice Beam
Shadow Feraligatr is one of the meta-defining additions to both the Great League and Ultra League, all thanks to its brilliant moveset. 🤩
Shadow Claw is among the top Quick Moves in PvP, delivering high damage, fast energy gain, and excellent coverage. This pairs amazingly well with Hydro Cannon, a move that hits even resistant targets hard. For the third move, both Ice Beam and Crunch are viable, though Ice Beam is preferred for its ability to threaten Dragon-types. Shadow Feraligatr almost always dishes out heavy damage, making it a stellar PvP pick. 👏
🔵 Great League
With fast and hard-hitting attacks, Shadow Feraligatr tears through much of the Great League meta, taking down major threats like Annihilape, Dunsparce, Guzzlord, Dewgong, Carbink, Dusclops, Claydol, Galarian Weezing, Grumpig, and Shadow Sableye. 👊
It does lose to several opponents as well, mostly due to its reduced bulk from Shadow form and League CP restrictions. However, its guaranteed damage output makes it one of the core threats in the Great League. It's better than non-Shadow Feraligatr, too! 👍
🟡 Ultra League
In Ultra League, Shadow Feraligatr is feared for its brutal offense, defeating high-tier Pokémon like Zygarde Complete, Drifblim, Venusaur, Annihilape, Skeledirge, Talonflame, Malamar, Jellicent, Typhlosion, Cresselia, Blastoise, Grumpig, Shadow Dragonite, Giratina (Altered), Corviknight, Dusknoir, Shadow Nidoqueen, and Gliscor. 😍
Even though the regular Feraligatr manages Clefable and Greninja as extra wins, Shadow Feraligatr brings immense pressure in almost every match—even the losing ones! It’s a true match-winner. ✌️
Yes, some hiccups like Virizion, Registeel, and Cobalion can trip it up—but not without this croc leaving a mark. Truly an apex predator in Ultra League! 🐊
🟣 Master League
The Master League puts a check on Shadow Feraligatr’s rampage, but it can still beat elite threats like Necrozma (Dawn Wings), Rhyperior, Landorus Therian, Primarina, Togekiss, and Metagross. Not exactly top-tier here, as other Water-types like Kyogre, Palkia, Palkia Origin, Primarina, and Gyarados tend to bring more consistent value. 😊
💥 The best PvP moveset for Shadow Feraligatr is Shadow Claw, Hydro Cannon, and Ice Beam.
