PvE Analysis
Recommended moves
- Normal Attacker:
Tackle
Horn Attack
Tauros is a standalone Pokémon with no evolutions with just average stats. It's difficult for Normal types to make a mark in the PvE meta unless they have high stats to carve a niche for themselves (Blissey) and/or powerful moves that let them do high neutral damage (Regigigas with Crush Grip).
Unfortunately, Tauros does nothing in that regard and is just a collectible, although a valuable one due to its regional status and limited global availability.
⚔️ Raids
Ideally, you shouldn't be using Normal types in Raid battles due to their inability to deal super-effective damage. Tauros has neither the stats nor the moves to be even functional in Tier 3 Raids.
🛡️ Gyms
Mediocre bulk doesn't do Tauros any favors. Just use Blissey, Snorlax, or Slaking instead. ✅
PvP Analysis
Recommended moves
- Great League:
Tackle
Trailblaze
Horn Attack - Ultra League:
Tackle
Trailblaze
Horn Attack
Tauros has a high energy generation Fast Move in Tackle that syncs well with Horn Attack to spam hits and force the opponent to use shields. Add Trailblaze to the mix, and you can even get a guaranteed ATK buff on each use. That said, Tauros lacks raw power that would have helped it score KOs, and also has mediocre bulk, not helping its cause either.
In fact, by the time you attempt to spam Trailblaze or Horn Attack, Tauros’ own HP cuts down to size, forcing you to switch or let it get KO’d for your next Pokémon. Not recommended for PvP usage. ❌
💎 The best PvP moves for Tauros are Quick Attack, Horn Attack and Trailblaze.
