- Normal Attacker:
Lick
Hyper Beam
⚔️ Raids
Snorlax is a highly defensive Normal-type Shadow Pokémon. Which also means there's no reason to use Snorlax as a raid attacker as it will not dish out particularly high damage, and even if it did there's no reason to use a Normal-type raid attacker as no Pokémon is weak to Normal-type attacks.
🛡️ Gyms
Even with shadow bonus, Snorlax is still one of the best Pokémon you can place to defend a gym. Not only does it have a very high HP stat, its Normal-typing means it's only weak to Fighting-type attacks. This makes it a gym defender only second to the Chansey line. However, as a gym defender, you want Snorlax to be as defensive as possible so it is still overall better to use regular Snorlax, and it would be less expensive to do so as well.

🔵 Great League
Snorlax can be a fun Pokémon to use in the Great League since its sheer bulk might put your opponent against a figurative big huggable wall. However, Snorlax does not achieve its true bulk potential in the Great League, the shadow bonus doesn’t help it much in that way, and it is often outclassed by other bulky Normal-types. Not only that, while it does have some spam potential with Body Slam, it could use some upgrades to its move kit overall. Something that might change in the future.
🟡 Ultra League
Snorlax does achieve better overall stat products in the Ultra League, making it super bulky. As such, it can perform decently in this league. But once again, Snorlax is held back by the fact that while it can tank hits it can’t hit back as well either, so it doesn’t really get any clean wins. Even with the increase in attack from the shadow bonus, Snorlax cannot hit hard so it ultimately ends up performing worse.
🟣 Master League
Shadow Snorlax is actually just shy of being a really good Pokémon in the Ultra League. It’s damage bonus actually matters here which allows it to outperform its regular variant and even defeat some meta Pokémon including both of Necrozma’s fusion forms in a realistic amount of times. The only real point worth considering is whether or not you want to build it up or wait to build some of the rare legendary Pokémon that always top the meta charts in this league format.
