      Shadow Samurott in the meta

      Shadow Samurott in the meta

      PvE AnalysisPvE Analysis

Shadow Samurott is a welcome addition to the Water-type PvE meta, becoming the hardest-hitting Water starter at the time of its release! 🌊

With high damage potential and decent bulk even after the Shadow nerf, Shadow Samurott is a great investment. 💯

      ⚔️ Raids

Shadow Samurott hits harder than Mega Blastoise, although dodging is essential for optimal performance. It's a mighty fine Hydro Cannon user! 😄

      🛡️ Gyms

While Shadow Samurott isn’t great in Gyms, its Bug-type moves allow it to counter Grass-type attackers effectively, sending them packing! 😂

      PvE AnalysisPvP Analysis

While Shadow Samurott excels in PvE, it’s a completely different story in PvP. Its lower bulk hurts it significantly, and it lacks a good PvP moveset. Honestly, just use Shadow Swampert instead. 😐

      🔵 Great League

An underwhelming moveset combined with low bulk renders Shadow Samurott unviable in the Great League.

      🟡 Ultra League

While Shadow Samurott still suffers from bulk issues, Fury Cutter and Megahorn can cause trouble to the Dark and Grass types that are common in the Ultra League. However, this is its only niche, and it is otherwise completely outclassed by the reliable Swampert. 😶

      🟣 Master League

Shadow Samurott holds absolutely no value in the Master League.

              Catch probability with multiple throws

In order to help Trainers understand their overall odds when catching Shadow Samurott, we enable the functionality to showing the total chance to catch it depending on the number of available throws. We calculate this chance as if you repeated the same throw N-number of times.

To activate this functionality, change the number of Number of throws to a value greater than 1. The Number of throws option is available in the configuration options above the chart

              Catch rate formula

Pokémon GO catch rate formula can be expressed as follows:

              • CATCH_MULTIPLIERS = ball * curve * berry * throwType * (type1Medal + type2Medal / 2)
              • CATCH_RATE = 1 - Math.pow(1 - baseCatchRate / (2 * cpm), CATCH_MULTIPLIERS)

There are different multipliers that come into play when calculating catch rate.

Curved throws are more effective than regular throws, stronger types of Poké Ball have a higher catch rate, and using a Razz Berry or a Golden Razz Berry also improves your chances.
