PvP-analyseWing Attack Poison Fang Shadow Ball Wing Attack Air Cutter Poison Fang A higher stat product than Zubat, a 100% chance to drop the opponent's DEF by 1 stage, and a 30% chance to increase its own ATK by 1 stage, all at low energy, make Golbat quite the headache to deal with. It's so quirky that it takes out nearly half of this League's meta, including big shots like Barboach, Mandibuzz, Skarmory, Chansey, and Vulpix. Of course, it struggles against Steel and Psychic types, but its stat-altering mechanics often make the opponent's strategies go topsy-turvy, handing you the win.
Despite being stingy to deal with due to the nature of its moveset, Golbat lacks the firepower to take down many of the XL versions of its opponents in this format. It can't beat Togekiss and, even with boosts, it can't overpower bulky Pokémon, which are often found in many Great League teams. Besides, most of its wins are rather expected, making it easy for the opponent to switch into Golbat. Overall, a disappointing run makes this Pokémon a bad pick.
A max CP of only 2234 makes Golbat inadequate for the higher PvP Leagues.
